Урок по английскому языку «О вреде курения».

Цели урока:

Обучающая: введение и активизация новой лексики, развитие восприятия речи на слух;

Развивающая: развитие творчески способностей учеников, памяти, речи; умение защищать свое мнение, использовать элементы дискуссии;

Воспитательная: курение вредит здоровью.

Средства обучения: компьютер, обучающая компьютерная программа.

Xoд урока.

1. Вступление.

Every one of you has encountered the problem of smoking. First of all we are often "passive smokers" when we are in the company of someone who smokes. Then many of our relatives friends classmates or colleagues smoke. So we have to face this problem. As we shall discuss this problem at the lesson, we will need some words or expressions which will help us to do this. That`s why, the aim of our lesson will be to enrich our vocabulary by memorizing the new words and being able to use them in our discussion.

2. Фонетическая зарядка, запоминание слов и составление предложений с ними.

Постепенно даются три группы слов, которые нужно прочитать за учителем, запомнить и повторить, составить два предложения.

1. Words for phonetic drill connected with smoking:

A pipe

A cigarette=a fag

A fag end=a butt

To puff a cigarette

A packet of cigarettes

A cigarette lighter

A box of matches

A brand

A light brand

A filter-tip

An ash-tray

To tap ash from a cigarette.

To encounter the problem of smoking

To smoke like a chimney.

2. Words connected with the harm caused by smoking:

A health-ruining habit

To cause a weak chest

Collapsed lungs

Problems in breathing

Air pollution

Smoke-addiction

Passive smoking

Smoking-related diseases

3. Words dealing with the solution to the problem:

Health warning

To ban smoking

To use filter tips

To use light cigarettes

nicotine -free cigarettes

an anti - nicotine plaster

to suck a lollipop

coffin - shaped vending - machines

to launch a prevention campaign

to carry on anti - smoking campaign

to persuade

3.Составление списка опасных действий.

1. To smoke,

To take drugs.

Далее учащиеся сами предлагают опасные действия.

Возможны предложения:

• To ride a motorbike at high speed;

• To cross the road with your eyes closed;

• Hang - gliding;

• Coming to the lesson without your homework.

2. Учащиеся должны выбрать из этого списка то, что является самым опасным, а что наименее опасным и обосновать свой выбор.

Now you should put the numbers in the list of dangerous things showing what in your opinion in the most or the least dangerous, if possible, say, why you have done it.

4. Развитие аудирования и говорения.

Два ученика читают составленное дома письмо, которое предлагается для проблемной страницы в журнале, а потом задают два - три вопроса классу относительно этого письма.

• Письмо для проблемной страницы журнала от ученика, который рассказывает, почему он начал курить.

• Письмо от матери, которая пишет, что она делает для того, чтобы ее сын бросил курить.

Now you will listen to two letters written to a problem page of a magazine.

One letter is from a seventh-former who started smoking.

Another letter is from a mother who says what she does to make her son stop smoking.

You should be able to answer some questions after you have listened to the text.

5. Дискуссия. Обсуждение проблемных вопросов.

1. Почему курить вредно? Why is smoking dangerous?

Учащиеся сами формулируют свои ответы, используя лексику из фонетической зарядки.

2. Причины курения. The reasons of smoking.

Из приведенных ниже ответов учащиеся должны выбрать один -два правильных и обосновать свой выбор.

1. Children and many teenagers start smoking not because they like the of cigarettes. They want to look more grown - up than they really are.

2. They feel that it makes them more independent, many teenage girls nowadays start smoking just because it is more like fashion.

3. Some teenagers start smoking because they have problems in their families or at school.

4. Some fat people think that it would make them thinner.

5. Some of their friends smoke.

6. There is too much advertising of cigarettes.

7. Some people think that smoking adds something to their image - they say: «I`m classy».

3. Мы не можем остановить производство табачных изделий. Почему?

We can't stop producing tobacco goods. Why?

1. Too many people smoke and they all can't stop doing it.

2. Tobacco industry gives the government much money in taxes.

3. Tobacco companies try to improve their image by sponsoring sport events or giving charity.

4. We can't make a law against smoking.

5. There are health warnings on many packets of cigarettes. They say «Smoking is dangerous for your health».

4. Как решить проблему курения? How to solve this problem?

Ученики сами формулируют средства для решения этой задачи.

Возможны ответы:

1. It is necessary to launch a campaign against children smoking.

2. Parents and teachers must fight against this problem together.

3. Much can be done by explaining to the children that they ruin health by smoking.

4. Cigarette advertising should be banned.

5. «No smoking» sign must be put on the porch of the school.

6. Smoking should be banned in public places.

5. Какие советы ты можешь дать человеку, который решил бросить курить? What advice can you give to a smoker who has made up his mind to give up smoking?

Ученики сами формулируют эти рекомендации.

Возможны ответы:

1. You must realize that this habit is health - ruining.

2. You must have a strong will because it' s very difficult to get rid of this habit.

3. Find a hobby.

4. Go for a walk more often.

5. Go in for sport, join a sports club.

6. Take a lollipop every time when you want to smoke.

7. Try to make new friends who don't smoke.

8. Ask your friends to help you.

9. Draw funny cartoons on smokers.

6. Итоги урока.

Учащиеся формулируют выводы. Учитель суммирует ответы.

We have done a very important job at the lesson.

First, we have learned many new words and expressions.

Then, we tried to make them active in our speech and we have discussed a very important problem - the problem of smoking. I hope that after this lesson you will be able to help people to give up smoking.

7. Домашнее задание.

1. Записать новые слова и фразы в словарь и выучить их.

2. Задание:

а) взять интервью у человека, который курит, и записать его;

б) написать, что бы ты сделал для решения этой проблемы, если бы был директором школы.
