CLIMATE AND WEATHER IN ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES.

AMERICA

The climate in the USA differs greatly from one part of the country to another. The coldest climate is in the north, where there is heavy snow in winter and the temperature may go down to 40 degrees below zero. The south has a subtropical climate, with temperatures as high as 49 degrees in summer. Hot winds blowing from the Gulf of Mexico often bring typhoons. The climate along the Pacific coast is much warmer than of the Atlantic coast. The heaviest rains in the country are in the Washington region and the climate in the Gulf of Mexico area is also very damp. The region around the Great Lakes is known for its changeable climate.

Canada

The climate of Canada varies from Arctic climate in the north, with winter temperatures as low as 50 degrees Centigrade, to moderate climate, with summer temperatures up to 33degrees Centigrade in the east and west. Winter in Canada lasts from four five month with heavy Snowfalls Rainfalls are considerable in the east and west, but lest considerable in the Centre. The Atlantic coast of Canada is often hidden in a thick fog.

Australia

The climate of Australia varies from to subtropical. Being in the southern hemisphere, Australia has summer when we in the northern hemisphere have winter, and when we have summer. During the summer months the northwestern section of the continent has a temperature of over 26.5 C. The climate in the west is very dry and more than half of Australia gets too little rain. In the north the wind from the sea bring heavy monsoon Rainfalls in tropical summer. In the south west and east the winds bring rain in winter. It is interesting to known, that January is the hottest month in Australia.

New Zealand

The climate in New Zealand is warm and the greater part of the country is well watered. The North Island is subtropical but not too hot. The east and north of both islands have a lot of sunny days, but much rains falls on the west coast.
