Урок по теме «Choosing profession»


Цель: развивать у учащихся навыки устной и письменной речи по теме «Выбор учебного заведения. Выбор профессии».

Задачи:

- активизировать лексику по теме «Выбор профессии»;

-практиковать учащихся в словообразовании;

- совершенствовать коммуникативные навыки учащихся по теме «Выбор профессии».

Планируемые результаты обучения:

Личностные:

-формировать чувство потребности в выборе профессии, востребованной в современном обществе;

- помочь учащимся определиться с выбором будущей профессии;
- формировать качества, необходимые для успешности в будущей профессиональной деятельности.

Метапредметные:
- умение планировать работу, сравнивать, обобщать, делать логические выводы;
- умение работать с различными источниками информации, выделять главное;

Предметные :
- умение логично и последовательно выражать свое мнение в соответствии с коммуникативной задачей;

- умение строить логическое высказывание по теме;


Тип урока: комплексный с применением информационно-коммуникационных технологий и интернет- ресурсов.

Оборудование: компьютер, проектор, интерактивная доска.

Ход урока


1-я часть урока.

1.1 Организационный момент. Ознакомление с темой, целями и задачами урока.

Teacher: Welcome to the conference , called "The world of opportunities". Today we are going to speak about your plans for future and your future professions. Young people have many opportunities when they leave school. It is very important for a person to make the right choice of the university and future profession.

First of all let's revise some popular professions. Look at the screen and try to remember the names of the professions.

Pupils' answers. (teacher, nurse, policeman, singer, waiter, politician, engineer).


1.2. Актуализация лексического материала по теме урока.

You know that there are different kinds of job - well-paid, boring, stressful, etc. Now you can see some job characteristics. Match them with their definitions.

(учащиеся работают с интерактивной доской, соединяя характеристики с соответствующими им определениями).

1.3.Now look at the screen and fill in the table with the correct form of the words (учащиеся работают с интерактивной доской, заполняя таблицу).

2-я часть . Основная часть


  1. Выступления учащихся.

Our guests have prepared presentations. The participants of the conference should meet some requirements. The duration of presentation is 5-6 minutes.

  1. Choose a university you would like to get into.

  2. Give your reasons for choosing this particular university.

  3. Give a brief history of the university.

  4. Write about your university's application procedures.

  5. Describe the university's application procedures.

  6. Say what faculty you would like to get into and why.

Speaker 1. Moscow State University.

I want to apply to the Moscow State University, because it is one of the most prestigious and oldest universities in our country. There I will get a good education. But it is very difficult to get into it, because I must have high scores. Discussion. The competition is very high. I have always dreamt of studying at Moscow State University. I am preparing my application documents and will send them by mail. I've checked what NCEs are required and now I'm working hard to prepare for my exams. The university hold its own exams too. I hope for the best. I believe I succeed in it. I've chosen the Marketing and Advertising faculty. I guess that job I've chosen is very interesting. I will meet and communicate with many interesting people. I'll take part in negotiations, presentations. It's a well-paid job and I'll have career prospects. I hope to set up my own company in the near future.

Discussion.

  1. Could you tell us about the history of the university?

  2. I think that being HR officer is quite boring, monotonous job. Could you give us arguments in favor of your choice?

Speaker 2. Humboldt University (Berlin).

To tell the truth I found it extremely difficult to choose a university I would like to get into. Three years ago I made a decision to get into the Humboldt University in Berlin. So I hope that two my dreams there will come true : living in Germany and studying to become a teacher of the English language. It will give me an opportunity to study two foreign languages. I know that this university is one of the ten best universities in Germany. I t has many prominent graduates. It's very prestigious, that's why it's very difficult to get into it.

The university was founded in 1809 by brothers Humboldt . It is one of the biggest universities in Germany. I need to pass 6 exams to get into it. I've chosen the English and American Department. I'm going to choose the English language in German schools.

Discussion.

1.The report was very interesting. I wonder why you decided to study English in Germany not in England?

  1. If I'm not mistaken your dream is to live in Germany. What does Germany attract you?

  2. How long have you been studying German?

Speaker 3. The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

I would like to get into the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The main university is situated in Moscow , but it also has branches all over the country.

Ranepa is leading university in Russian in the areas of public policy. This university has a quite long history of establishment. It was founded by the presidential order on September 20, 2010. A lot of famous people studied there: Valentina Matvienko, Sergey Shoigu, Svetlana Zhurova.

To get into it I must pass NCEs in four subjects: Russina, Mathematics, the Social Studies and English. I've chosen the faculty-Human Resources management. Nowdays it's very popular and well-paid industry.

  2. Do you want to be a successful student in the university?

  3. What are the ways to achieve it?

All the presentations were interesting and informative. The speakers prepared interesting reports about the universities they chose and future professions. We've got aquainted with different Russian and international universities. I hope they'll help you to make the right choice of the university and your future profession. The conference is over.
