Цели урока:

• введение и тренировка новой лексики по теме урока.

• тренировка навыков аудирования и монологической речи.

• формирование лингвострановедческой компетенции.

Задачи урока:

• Обучающие: применение полученных знаний на практике, оперирование имеющимся потенциалом в конкретной ситуации, закрепление умения и навыков монологической речи, практика аудирования.

• Воспитательные: воспитание уважительного отношения друг к другу, взаимопомощи, воспитание позитивного отношения к культуре страны изучаемого языка, формирование мотивации к изучению английского языка.

• Развивающие: развитие умения работать в индивидуально, в парах, в коллективе, развитие познавательного интереса к культуре другой страны, закрепление умения наблюдать, сравнивать, развитие творческих способностей.

Тип урока: применение знаний на практике.

Введение и тренировка лексики.

- Look at the pictures. There are a lot of symbols, things and words, which are connected with our holiday. What are they?

- And now try to explain the following Christmas symbols: Santa Claus, the elves, a reindeer, a sleigh.

- There are some missing letters in the words. Fill in the gaps and then read and translate the words: winter, hymn, lights, turkey, pudding, stockings, cards).

1. На слайде поочередно появляются символы Рождества, учащиеся повторяют слова за учителем, переводят их (снег, зима, звезда, ель, подарки, открытка, гимн, сани, эльф, огни, Санта Клаус, северный олень, индейка, пудинг, чулки на камине).

2. Учащиеся объясняют появляющиеся рождественские символы (Санта Клаус, эльфы, северный олень, сани).

3. Учащиеся вставляют пропущенные буквы в словах (зима, гимн, огни, индейка, пудинг, чулки на камине, открытка).

Тренировка грамматических навыков.

- Well done! You know, yesterday I received a letter from London. The English girl asked Santa Claus for the present she would like to get on Christmas Eve, but she had made some mistakes and missed the verb "to be". Let's help her to correct them.

- Right you are! Look, what a beautiful puppy Santa Clause prepared for Betty!

- Учащиеся вспоминают правило употребления глагола "to be" и вставляют нужную форму в пропуски в письме:

• Who gives the city of London a Christmas tree every year?

• Where does the Christmas tree stand?

• What do English people do before Christmas?

• What is the traditional Christmas dinner?

• What do people put into the pudding?

• What does it mean if you find a button or a ring in your piece of pudding?

• When does the celebration of Christmas start?

• What do children do on the Christmas Eve?

• What is Boxing day? What do people usually do on that day?

Учащиеся прослушивают аудиозапись о Рождестве и рождественских традициях, и после прослушивания отвечают на вопросы по прослушанному материалу:

- The people of Norway give a Christmas tree to the city of London.

- It stands in Trafalgar Square.

- Most families decorate their houses with a Christmas tree, buy presents and write Christmas cards.

- The traditional Christmas dinner is roast turkey with vegetables and Christmas pudding.

- They put 5-penny pieces in pudding and sometimes a button or a ring.

- If you find a button in your piece of pudding you will be rich, a ring - marriage.

- The celebration of Christmas starts on the 24^th of December.

- Children hang stockings at the end of their beds.

- This day people usually give and receive presents. This is time to visit friends and relatives or to sit at home and watch football.

- We have found out a lot about Christmas. It's all very interesting. Now it's time to write Christmas cards. Look at them. Let's remember what can you write on the cards. You have to write a few words to your friends or to our guests.

- Your cards are very nice. You may give them to your parents and friends or to our guests.

- And now let's sing a song about Christmas, "Jingle Bells".
