Урок - путешествие "Places of interests of London"

Цели и задачи:

1. учить учащихся произносить названия достопримечательностей Лондона, читать тексты и соотносит их с картинками, закрепить лексику по теме.

2. развивать навыки чтения и устной речи.

3. воспитывать интерес к достопримечательностям Лондона, любовь и толерантность к обычаям, культуре страны изучаемого языка.

Оснащение урока: экран, проектор, карта Лондона, картинки с изображением достопримечательностей Лондона.

Ход урока:

1. Вступительное слово учителя:

Good morning, dear boys and girls!

( читаем написанные на доске слова пословицы: "World is a book and those who do not travel read only a page")

So we shall travel to the UK and it's capital - London. We have the opportunity to visit London and see some places of interest on the invitation of Smith's family. Let me introduce them: Mr. John Smith, Mrs. Mary Smith, their sons Pete and Mike.

They are discussing Russian group's arriving.

II. Диалог семьи Смит

Mr. Smith - Well; I have good news for you: Students from Russia are coming to London today.

Mrs. Smith - We can invite them to live here some days. We are a hospitable family.

Pete - What a good idea! We have a large cottage. Some student can live in our guest-room.

Mike - Yes, and I can show them places of interest in London. There is no place like London.

Mr. Smith - I see, you are a great patriot of our country.

Mike - Right you are. We shall be guides for Russian students.

Pete - Let's go to the station then!

Учитель: Dear boys and girls! Imagine yourself sitting in a bus. We are driving long London streets. These are our guides Mike and Pete. (на экране карта Лондона)

Mike - Hello! I am your guide. I'll show you around London today. Look at the map of London! There are world famous sightseeing of London: Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar

Square, St.Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Tate Gallery, Roy Festival Hall, Tower of London, Tower Bridge.

Учитель: (включает кассету)

Listen and repeat! (учащиеся повторяют названия достопримечательностей)

Pete - Our first stop is Houses of Parliament. House of Parliament stands beside the river Thames. This is the most interesting sightseeing in London. The countries leaders speak in the Houses of Parliament.

Ученик: I have some more information about it in the text. May I read?

Учитель: Yes, you may! (ученик читает текст №4 стр. 65)

Учитель: Thank you!

Mike - Our next stop is Big Ben. Big Ben is a tower with the clock in it. Big Ben is really a bell. You can hear it every hour.

Учитель: Ann, read please additional information about Big Ben. (ученик читает текст №1, стр.65)

Pete: And now we are near the Tower of London. The Tower is very old. It was a prison earlier, than a museum.

Учитель: Ira, read please about the Tower of London. (ученик читает текст №2, стр.65)

Mike - Our last stop is Westminster Abbey. Westminster Abbey is a symbol of England. It was founded by St. Peter and was build by King Edward in 1065. The coronation of all British Queens takes places here.

Ученик: May I read the text?

Учитель: Yes, you may. (ученик читает текст №3, стр.65)

Учитель: Now, let's check your attention please! (упр.18, стр.66) Finish the sentences!

Далее на экране появляется:

1. карта Лондона с названиями

2. карта без названий

(дополнительное задание, если будет время)

Replace parts of the words (на плакате)

Учитель: Our journey is coming to end and I want you to answer my questions.

1. What is the capital of Great Britain?

2. What is the symbol of Great Britain?

3. And do you know the capital of Russia?

4. What is the symbol of Russia?

5. What colour is the flag of Russia?

III. Now I see you are real patriots of our country. Did you like our journey?

Let us invite the family Smith to visit Moscow next year. Give them invitation cards, please.

Дети вручают пригласительные билеты семье Смит в форме сердечек и зачитывают их: "Dear Mr.Smith! We invite you and your family to come and see our country next year.

Учитель: Dear friends! I want you to see these places of interest with your our own eyes some day! Good bye!
