3.Отличать использование to be going to от will/ shall.

The aim of the lesson

Today we shall begin module 4. This module is very interesting. Because we will speak about celebrations and superstitions. You must know - the form of Future Simple.

• When to use: "to be going to".

• Differences between will/shall and to be going to.

You must use the new vocabulary in making up the dialogues and in describing special occasions.

Revision of the new lexical material on the theme "Celebrations" .

1. To talk about celebration lets revise the vocabulary connected with this theme. Now open your student books at page 72 ex/1.Read the words and translate them, please.

1 Happy birthday - С днем рождения!

2 Congratulations - Поздравляю!

3 Happy new year - С новым годом!

Introduction of new grammar material "The future with will and going to"

To talk about the preparation for the future holiday you must know how to speak about it in future. Who can tell me when we are talking about future which tenses we can use? Yes, Future Simple. What is the formulation of Future Simple? Today we will learn about the construction "to be going to". We use to be going to when we talk about future events. Going to переводится как собираться, намереваться. Это выражение подходит к тем ситуациям, когда мы заранее планируем выполнить какое-либо действие в ближайшее время.

Future Simple (will/shall) используем, когда решение что-то сделать возникает в процессе разговора, а не заранее.

Например, два друга беседуют о походе в концерт.

John: Have you bought tickets for the concert?

James: No, I've forgotten about these tickets. I will buy them tomorrow.

To be going to используем, когда уже принято решение что-то сделать заранее.

Например, изменим ситуацию.

John: Have you bought tickets for the concert?

James: No, but I am going to buy tickets in the evening today.

What does "to be going to" mean? When do we use it?

Мы используем to be going to (a не will), когда в настоящей ситуации есть что-то, что указывает на то, что произойдет в будущем (особенно в ближайшем будущем). И тот, кто говорит точно уверен в том, что произойдет, основываясь на ситуации, которая происходит в данный момент.

• Ok, answer the questions in ex/2 b.

• Have you ever been to a wedding party?

• Can you describe what happens at a typical wedding in our country?

We met the words I hope so and I guess so and others in dialogue. - Who can translate these words?
