Canada

Организационный момент: на интерактивной доске представлена презентация на тему «Canada». Демонстрация презентационных слайдов сопровождается рассказом учителя о достопримечательностях Канады.

На экране слайд №1.

Вступительное слово учителя: Good morning my dear friends. I am very glad to see you. Today I want to introduce you six most famous and interesting places in Canada which you can visit if you travel there.

Слайд №2.

Well, let's start! The first one is…

  1. Niagara Falls. (слайды 3,4,5,6)

Niagara Falls is considered to be one of the largest landmarks not only in North America but also worldwide. It is not a waterfall with the largest flow, it is not also the highest, but still takes the breath away to anyone who stay before it. This fantastical waterfall is situated on the border of the United States and Canada.

For more beautiful and impressive is considered the view of the Canadian side of the waterfall. If you plan to visit Niagara the best period to do that is during the warm months of the year from May to September.

The next one is…

  1. Banff National Park. (слайды 7,8,9,10)

Banff National Park lies in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains in the province of Alberta and showcases some of Canada's most beautiful scenery. Green lakes, snow-capped peaks, and glaciers are all easily accessible in this stunning park. The jewel of the park is the Lake Louise, where green waters reflect the surrounding mountains and visitors can stroll easily around the shores.

In winter Banff is also a major winter sports area and home to Lake Louise Ski Resort and Sunshine Village, two of Canada's most prominent ski destinations.

And now we going to see an exciting Canadian landmark. It is…

  1. Wooden Bridge Capilano. (слайд №11: ВИДЕО!)

The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a popular destination for visitors to Vancouver. This 137-metre-long suspension bridge draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and is one of Vancouver's most popular attractions.

The footbridge spans a 70-meter deep river canyon leading to an activity park filled with forest trails and a treetop walk through old-growth giants.

The next sightseeing is…

  1. Ice Hotel «De Glace» in Quebec. (слайды 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

Hotel de Glace, or the Ice Hotel is a construction that is built every year. It is made of 15,000 tons of snow and 500 tons of ice. The temperature inside the hotel between -23⁰F and -28⁰F.

Even though it does not sound like the most comfortable hotel, this work of freezing art has everything you would expect a hotel to have - theme rooms and suites, a cinema, a chapel, a spa, a bar and etc.

It is open in January every year and it stays open until April.

The next Canadian landmark is…

  1. CN Tower (Toronto). (слайды 18, 19, 20, 21)

Toronto's most famous landmark is more than just an engineering wonder. Standing at 553 meters the CN Tower held the distinction of being the tallest free-standing structure in the world until the completion of Burj Khalifa in 2010. Today it is one of Toronto's most popular attractions for tourists and locals alike.

It remains the tallest free-standing structure in the Americas, the signature icon of Toronto's skyline, the 2nd tallest building in the world and a symbol of Canada, attracting more than two million international visitors annually.

And finally, let me introduce an attractive…

  1. Royal Ontario Museum.

(слайды 22, 23, 24, 25, 26. Внимание: слайд №25 ВИДЕО!)

The Royal Ontario Museum in downtown Toronto is one of the premier museums in the province featuring a broad range of collections, from natural history and science to cultural exhibits from around the world. The building is now a mix of old and new architecture with a striking appearance.

No trip to Toronto is complete without a visit to the Royal Ontario Museum - Canada's largest museum of world cultures and natural history. Explore special exhibitions, permanent galleries of dinosaurs, ancient Egypt, Canada's First Peoples, gems and minerals, and more, alongside world-class dining, shopping and breathtaking architecture.

So, thank you for your attention. Any questions?
