The aim of the lesson: give information about countable and uncountable nouns. To learn compare them.

Expecting results: learn about countable and uncountable nouns, compare them.

II. New theme.

Brainstorming

There are words many words on the blackboard. Your task is to write only 1st group (drinks) 2nd group (food) 3rd group (fruits and vegetables)

Answer the questions

1. What food and drink do you like?

2. What food and drink don't you like?

Focus on grammar. Countable and uncountable nouns.

Look at the words. Why is there no -s on sugar?

Why is there -s on apples?

Can we count apples?

Can we count sugar?

Countable nouns- we can count things.

Ex: three boys, two oranges.

Uncountable nouns: we can't things.

Ex: sugar, milk, water

III. Practice.

Task 1

Now, lets do the next task is to divide the words into countable and uncountable nouns.

Sugar, oranges, bananas, tea, juice, potatoes, apples, eggs, bread, rice, milk, butter, carrots, tomatoes.

Task 2

Work in pairs. Look at the fridge and cupboard. Ask and answer questions about the ingredients in the recipe.
