Orenburg

I live in Russia, it is the biggest country in the world. The capital of Russia is Moscow; it is a very big and beautiful city with great history.

As for me I live in Orenburg, it is my native city. Orenburg was founded in 1743. It was a fortress; nowadays it is the center of the Orenburg region, it's a large city with a population of about 600 thousand people. My city is situated between Europe and Asia. There are two rivers in Orenburg - the Ural and the Sakmara. In summer many people like to spend time near these rivers.

There are different places to visit in our city. Young people like to go to the cinemas: Kinocity, Kosmos, Sokol and some others. You can watch famous cartoons and interesting films there. If you like to go to the theatres, you can visit the Orenburg theatres: the Drama Theatre, the Musical Comedy Theatre, the Puppet Show Theatre, the Tatar Theatre and some other.

You can learn a lot about the history of our city if you come to one of the Orenburg Museums. Orenburg is famous for its people. The first Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin studied in our city, Alexander Pushkin wrote his stories here.

I like to walk down the streets of my city in spring. There are many beautiful green parks in Orenburg. The Zauralnaya Grove is a popular place for children and their parents. You can ride a bike, jump, run, play badminton and have great fun on the bank of the Ural.

I love my native city very much.
