The theme of my extracurricular work is «Merry Christmas». The aims of my work are to develop pupils knowledge about holidays, speaking skills and to develop their interest in learning  languages. I took pupils from 5 th and 6 th form. They learnt by heart poems about Christmas with pleasure. Pupils solved riddles. My pupils like to sing a song. Merry Christmas!

Aims:

  • to develop pupils knowledge about holidays

  • To develop their speaking skills

  • To develop their interest to the learning language.

Aids: costumes, presents, masks, snow with tasks, poems and songs about winter.

Teacher: Good afternoon boys and girls, dear teachers today we are having Christmas party. What we will do at the party?

Pupil 1: I will listen to music

Pupil 2: I will take in a sack race.

Pupil 1: In England, Christmas is the most, important of all the, Bank Holidays in the year. People give each presents and send Christmas cards. Presents for children are in their stocking. The traditional English dinner on Christmas Day is roast turkey and Christmas pudding. During Christmas in Trafalgar Square there is a Christmas tree.

Pupil 2: On the 25-th of December people get together to wish one another a Merry Christmas. Of course every man has a different hopes and wishes. But there is one hope which is dear to all the people of our country, and this is the for peace and friendship among the people on the earth.

Together: And we wish you a happy Christmas!

Now, our friends want to recite a poem.

Pupil 3: Merry Christmas to you,

Happy Christmas to me,

Happy Christmas to all our friends,

Whenever they may be

Pupil 4:

Merry Christmas to school,

And to our teachers too.

A happy Christmas to every one

And I wish my wish comes true.

Teacher: Children let's sing a song.

Song: "Jingle bells"

Now let's call a Father Frost.

'A Happy New Year' (звучит музыка группы АББА)

Father Frost: Good evening my dear friends. How are you?

I'm so tired; I want to relax who wants to sing me a song?

Pupil:

Christmas brings so many pleasures

Some are old and some are new,

And these greeting bring wishes

Those are warm, sincere and true.

For a very Happy Christmas

In just everything you do.

Father Frost: I have got some presents for you

I have got some tasks for you. (Разбрасывает снежинки с заданиями)

  1. I am small. I am white in winter and grey in summer.

  2. I am an animal. I live in the winter. I can swim.

  3. I am green. I can jump.

  4. I am white and black. I like mice.

  5. Recite a poem

  6. Sing a song

Pupil 2:

Attention! Attention!

Listen and look,

The tale about the "Turnip"

"The Turnip"

(Grandfather sees a big turnip.)

Grandfather: Oh, what a big turnip we have in our kitchen-garden. I want to pull it out. (Pulls the turnip.)One, two, three! It is too big for me. Granny, come here! Help me, please!

Grandmother: All right, Grandfather. I'm coming.

Grandfather and Grandmother (pulling together): One, two, three! One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it's too big for us!

Grandmother: Granddaughter, Granddaughter, help us please!

Granddaughter: All right, Granny. I'm coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother and Granddaughter (pulling together): One, two, three!.... One, two, three! One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it's too big for us!

Granddaughter: Dog, Dog, help us, please!

The Dog: All right, Granddaughter. I'm coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter and the Dog (pulling together): One, two, three!.... One, two, three! One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it's too big for us!

The Dog: Cat, Cat, help us please!

The Cat: All right, Dog. I'm coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter, the Dog and the Cat (pulling together): One, two, three!.... One, two, three! One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it's too big for us!

The Cat: Mouse, Mouse, come here! Help us please!

The Mouse: All right, cat. I'm coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter, the Dog, the Cat and the Mouse (pulling together): One, two,three!.... One, two, three! One, two, three! (Fall down.)

The turnip (standing up): Here I am!

All (together): Oh, what a big turnip we have!

Teacher:

Our girls want to dance for you.

So, girls you are welcome.

Pupil 1: Now it's time to play. What is your favorite game ?

Pupil 2: I like to take part in a sack race.

Pupil 1: Now, girls it's our time to play a "Tornado".

Teacher: Thanks girls. Very good. Now, friends let's cut a present. ()

Boys and girls. It's time to give presents to each other.

You are very good children thank you. At the end of our party let's sing a song.
