Тема: Мой родной город.

Цель: Познакомить учащихся с историей своего родного края, его выдающимися местами, научить употреблять профессионально-направленную лексику в речи. Закрепить знания учащихся о типах вопросов. Развивать умения составлять диалоги. Воспитывать самостоятельность, активность.

Тип урока: урок усвоения новых знаний.

Оборудование: карточки, текст "Donetsk is my native city", грамматическая таблица, мультимедийная установка.

Ход урока

1. Сообщение темы и цели урока.

T: Everybody has his own town where he was born, where he was going to school. Our native town is Donetsk. It is our town. We live here and we love this town. And today we are going to speak about this wonderful town. At the end of the lesson we'll be able to talk, to ask and answer questions about Donetsk and Donetsk region? It's territory, industry and famous people.

2. Введение в иноязычную сферу.

Eliciting. Составление "Mind-map"

T: What associates in your mind with the word Donetsk?

e.g.

population territory

region Donetsk coal

scientific river Kalmius

3. Контроль домашнего задания.

T: Your home task for today was to make vocabulary, concerning Donetsk region and your profession.

(Учащиеся по цепочке читают английские слова с переводом и составляют с ними предложения):

e.g. P1: coal - уголь

Donetsk is the center of coal-mining industry.

P2: waste banks - терриконы

Donetsk is very popular for its waste banks.

P3: mining equipment - угольное оборудование

The city produces metallurgic and mining equipment, refrigerators, bicycles.

P4: bituminous coal - каменный уголь

The region is rich in mineral resources, such as bituminous coal, rock salt, clay, mercury and others.

P5: extraction - добывание

The region ranks first in Ukraine in coal extraction.

P6: mining complex - угледобывающий комплекс

Donetsk region contains the principal mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine.

(разделительный вопрос)

предложение, в котором присутствует заявление + короткий вопрос общего типа

e.g. You enjoyed the party, didn't you?

You didn't enjoy the party, did you?

T: Can you ask four types of questions about our native town Donetsk using the text you see? Then we choose whose question is the best. (карточка 1)

5. Игра «Подбери название к картине»

T: You see some photos with places of interest in Donetsk and cards with the names of those places. You must find the right name of the photo. (карточка 2)

6. Диалогическая речь.

T: Some of you got texts where you can find the information about famous people of our region. You have five minutes to read this information and be ready to answer the questions. Other pupils must ask the questions. (карточки 3,4,5)

7. Закрепление изученного материала.

Составление синканов.

T: Look at the blackboard, please. You can see a table. You must make the tables of your own.

8. Домашнее задание.

T: Situation for improvisation. You are a tourist in Great Britain. Another tourist who happens to be your neighbour on a bus starts a conversation with you - he is interested in your native town. Write down your questions and answers. Work in pairs. Use conversational phrases for asking:

I'm sorry, I didn't quite get what you said.

Could you repeat your question, please?

I'm afraid, I can't answer your question.

Oh, it's a difficult question and I can't answer it right now.

To tell the truth, I don't know exactly.

9. Подведение итогов урока.

Игра "Whose word the last?" (Снежный ком), например:

Volodumir Sosura

1898 - 1965

He was born on the 6^th of January, 1898 in the village Debalcevo, Donetsk region.

In 1922 - 1923 he was a student of the Kharkiv university. In 1936 the poet entered to the Union of soviet writers of Ukraine and he got the opportunity to publish his works. In 1937 he was rewarded by order "The sign of respect".

His works was about Ukraine and Donetsk. Sosura loved his native land and tried to show his love in the verses.

In general V.Sosura wrote sixty collection of verses, many poems and a prose work "The third company".

His creative works were noted by Stalin prize and by Shevchenko State prize of Ukraine.

Sosura got his popularity by his gifted intimate lyric poetry.

Vasil Stus

1938 - 1985

He was born in Vinnytsia Region. In 1940 the family moved to Donetsk. There Stus spent his childhood and youth, there he educated.

In 1954 - 1959 Vasil Stus was a student of the Donetsk National University. After his service in army, Stus was a teacher in Gorlovka (1961 - 1963). His first verses were published in the magazine "Donbass".

In 1965 he was repressed.

The writer worried about the crises situation in Ukrainian culture.

Every year the Stus's readings take place in Donetsk, his creative works pupils study at schools. Some schools in Donetsk and Gorlivka named after Vasil Stus.
