-Good morning, pupils!

-Good morning, teacher!

-I'm glad to see you, sit down please. Who is on duty today? Who is absent?

Ok. What is the weather like today?

- The weather is sunny. It's cool outside.

- Thank you.

What kind of sports do you go in for sport? Do you like to compete? Why / why not?

- Today we get to be acquainted with people who like to compete. Do you know people who like to compete?

- But first of all let's remember some words and word combinations. We read them, translate and repeat. Repeat them after me. Good job! Now read them all one by one with translation. Katya, begin please. Very well!

As you see, we have two tables with words there, your task now is to make meaningful word expressions and write them down on the blackboard and in your exercise-books. Who would like to begin? Yes, please.

2. - Which countries were the hosts of the Olympic Games for three times?

3. - When and in what city in Russia were the Olympic Games held?

4. - When and where will the Olympic Games be held in Russia again?

At last lesson I asked you to prepare in what sports these people have become Olympic champions.

  1. - Alexey Yagudin is the Olympic champion in figure skating. He won the Olympic Games in 2002.

  2. - Elena Isinbaeva is the Olympic champion in athletics. She won the Olympic Games in 2004, 2008.

  3. - Nikita Kryakov is the Olympic champion in cross - country skiing. He won the Olympic Games in 2010.

  4. Svetlana Khorkina is the Olympic champion in gymnastics. She won the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, 2004.
