Ведущий 1: Good evening, dear friends!

Ведущий 2: We are glad to see you!

Ведущий 3: We would like you to have a good time this evening!

Ведущий 4: We invite you on our "Eurovision"

Ведущий 1: We are opening a great ceremony of the English Eurovision Song Contest. The best singers will show us their skills in singing in English.

Ведущий 2: The rules of the contest are:

  • all songs are sung live;

  • the songs could be sung only in English;

  • no time limits of the songs;

  • no limits of the performers on the stage;

  • people on the stage are of age from 7 till 17;

  • the song can be popular;

  • nations are not allowed to vote for their own song.

Ведущий 3: Well, friends! We are beginning our programme.

Ведущий 4: Let's travel to the country of fogs and traditions, Great Britain.

Ведущий 1: If you look at the map you'll see that it is situated on an island. The official name of Great Britain is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The head of the UK is the Queen, Elizabeth II.

Ведущий 2: This country is rich of its customs and traditions. It is famous for musical festivals and musicians.

Ведущий 3: The UK consists of four parts - Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. Every country has its own symbols, traditions and flower emblems. The representatives of every country will take part in our show "Eurovision"

Ведущий 4: So, let's begin our musical tour. And the first country where we are going to travel is …Scotland. Scotland is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, apart from being its second largest city. English (official) and Gaelic are the main languages of Scotland. The official animal of Scotland is Unicorn. The motto of Scotland is 'No one provokes me with impunity'. Scotland is the second largest country in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Ben Nevis, at 1,343 m, forms the highest point in Scotland. While, the lowest point in the country is Bed of Loch Morar, at 987 ft (300 m) below sea level. Scotland is very well known in the world for its whisky, popularly known as Scotch whisky. Television, telephone, video cassette recorder, finger printing, home of golf, tarmacadam, tyres are penicillin were all Scottish inventions. Scotland boasts of over 600 square miles of freshwater lakes, known as lochs, of which the most famous one is Loch Ness.

Ведущий 2: The next country is … Wales. The Welsh people call their country "Land of Song". Adults and children like singing and sing everywhere. Let's listen to some information about Wales. English and Welsh are the two official languages of Wales. English is the most widely spoken language. Just over 3 million people live in Wales. Until the 1980′s, Wales was one of the main exporters of coal. Rugby union and football (soccer) are the two most popular sports in Wales. Tom Pryce was one of two Welsh drivers to compete in Formula One Racing. He finished on the podium twice during his career. Just over 70% of the Welsh population identify themselves as Christians. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest denomination. The official motto is (translated to English): "Wales forever".

Ведущий 4: Let's continue our travelling. England is the largest country in Great Britain. London is the capital of it. And Big Ben is the symbol of the city. England enjoys a temperate climate. It has rainfall all year around. England is one of the most populous countries in the world. It has almost thrice the population of Australia and California. Its population is only three times lesser than the population of Japan. However, England is seventy-four times smaller than the United States of America, three times smaller than Japan and fifty-nine times smaller than Australia. The English love their tea. They consume more tea per capita than any other country in the world. Their tea consumption is more than thrice of Japan and a whopping twenty-two times more than America or France. England has many cultural and other places of interest all over its territory. It was the host to the world's first ever modern Olympic Games, and not Athens as it is popularly said. The first modern Olympic Games were in Much Wenlock in Shropshire, England in 1850. The Olympic Games in Athens were held in 1896, almost half a century later.

Ведущий 2: The next country of our tour is …Northern Ireland. Northern Island is the home to many sports legends like late soccer legend George Best, Norman Whiteside, Darren Clarke, Alex Higgins, Dave McCauley, Tony McCoy and F1 racer Eddie Irvine. Although English is the most popular language in Northern Ireland, Irish and Ulster Scots are still prevalent in several pockets of the region. Interestingly, Chinese is the most widely spoken minority language in Northern Ireland! "God Save The Queen" is the national anthem of Northern Ireland. Did you know that the unfortunate ship 'Titanic' was built and launched from Belfast Harbor in Northern Ireland? Northern Ireland is the second most thinly populated country of the UK after Scotland. Northern Ireland's capital city Belfast is a vibrant tourist attraction bustling with stylish bars, pubs, bistros, hotels and historical attractions. Almost 46% of the total population of Northern Ireland is under 30 years old. The Northern Ireland Flag comprises of red, white and blue colors.

Ведущий 4: Besides British English there is American English. The next country of our tour is …Australia, when English is an official language. Australia (officially the Commonwealth of Australia) is a country in the Southern Hemisphere. Here are some interesting facts about Australia. Australia is the sixth largest country by total area. However, the population is relatively small. Only 21.7 million people live in Australia. Australia is well known for its strong international sporting teams. Australians have very strong teams in cricket, hockey, netball, rugby league, rugby union, cycling, rowing and swimming. Almost 800,000 Australians live outside Australia. English is the most spoken language in Australia. It is the only language spoken in over 80% of Australian homes. Australia largest export markets are Japan, China, the United States, South Korea and New Zealand. There are six states and two territories in Australia. Each state and territory has its own parliament that makes laws. The official currency is the Australian dollar.

Ведущий 2: The show "Eurovision" is continuing. Let's represent next English speaking country … Canada. The first inhabitants of Canada were aborigines. The explorers from Western Europe settled in the country during the 1500s and the country was named 'Canada' by Jacques Cartier in 1535. The name comes from the Huron and Iroquois word 'kanata' which literally means village. Canada is the second largest country in the world, next only to the Russian Federation. The official languages of Canada are English and French. These languages have equal status in the Parliament, Federal Institutions and Federal Courts. The other non-official languages spoken in Canada are German, Italian, Punjabi and Chinese. Canada has ten provinces and three territories. Canada has many unique places for a tourist to explore. The country's tourism is centered around the four largest cities - Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto.

Ведущий 4: Let's represent the last country of our "Eurovision" … the USA. The United States of America is one of the largest countries in the world based on both population and land area. It has a relatively short history compared to other world nations, has one of the world's largest economies, and has one of the world's most diverse populations. As such, the United States is highly influential internationally. The United States is divided into 50 states. However state each varies in size considerably. Alaska has the longest coastline in the United States. Although English is the most commonly spoken language used in the U.S. and is the language used in government, the country has no official language.

Our contest comes to an end. Now it's time to choose the best singer of the English Camp! Our jury begins it's work.
