ЦЕЛИ:

  1. Активизировать лексический и грамматический материал предыдущих уроков.

  2. Развивать навыки говорения, аудирования, умение читать с разными стратегиями; развивать умение вести беседы на изучаемом языке, а так же делать монологическое высказывание; развивать внимание, память, умение работать в группах.

  3. Воспитывать интерес к изучению иностранного языка.

  • Good morning, children!

  • I am glad to see you. How are you today?

Let's begin our lesson. This time we'll learn a new topic "World Around Us". We'll speak about foreign countries, different continents where these countries are situated, about people of different nations and nationalities.

Look at the blackboard. Read the words. Translate them.

  • Read the words after me.

  • Read the words in pairs.

  • Read the words as quickly as you can.

Now let's play a memory game. Look at these words for a moment then close the book and name everything you remember.

  • Read out the words denoting: a) waters

b) plants

c) places on the earth

Open your textbooks at page 82. Find ex. 3 (Think of names for them.)

- What is "world"? What world is around you?

- What is there on the earth?

- What can you see in the sky?

- What long rivers of the world can you name?

- What can you see in the fields and forests?

- How many continents are there in the world?

Good you are.

Now let's read the text "Continents and Countries" to get some

new information about the world around us. In the text you will meet a lot of proper names. Let's learn to read them. Open the books and find ex. 18, p. 90.

Look through the words and pay attention on pronunciation.

Repeat after me. Read after …..

Now read the text and say what the smallest country in the world is.



  • Are you ready? What is the smallest country in the world?

  • Look at the blackboard. You can see the map. Find the smallest country in the world on the map.

  • Answer the questions using this map. (ex. 20 p. 93)

  • Look through the text and make up 5 statements which can be true or false.

  • Ask your classmates. If the statement is wrong they should correct it.

You have learnt the new information about the Earth and people on it. Let's work in groups and tell the class what you have learnt.

The 1 group - The Earth from space

The 2 group - The continents

The 3 group - The countries

The 4 group - People, nationalities, languages.

You can use the map.

At home you will prepare the information about the Earth and people, using ex. 19 p. 91, the plan of ex. 25 p. 96.
