Цели урока:

1.Расширить лингвострановедческие знания учащихся.

2.Развить интерес к учебно-познавательной деятельности на английском языке

3. Совершенствование навыков говорения.

4.Развитие интереса к стране изучаемого языка.

5.Воспитание толерантности к другим народам.

Ход урока.

1. Организационный момент.

Good morning my dear friends. I am glad to see you. How are you? I think everything is OK. Who is on duty today? What date is it today? What day is it today? Who is absent today? Are you ready to start our work?

2. Речевая зарядка.

What season is it now, P1? What is the weather like today? Do you like winter, P1? Why do you like winter?

Do you like winter too, P2? What do you like to do in winter? Do you like travelling, P2?

And what do you think about travelling, P3? In what season do you like travelling, P3?

3. Let's start our lesson.

T: Today we will travel to one of the English-speaking countries.

T: By the way, what English-speaking countries do you know, P1?

P1: Great Britain, USA, Canada.

T: Do you know, pupils, that India, New Zealand, Australia, some African countries are English speaking countries too?

But we are going to speak about Great Britain today. We'll go an excursion and visit some places of interest in Great Britain.

T: P1, what do you think about travelling abroad?

P1: To my opinion, travelling is exciting because when you travel you have a chance to visit new places, to see different historical places of interest.

T: P2, are you agree with P1? What is your opinion?

P2: To my mind, we can learn more about the traditions and customs of this place. When we travel, we meet different people and makes friends.

T: P3, what do you think about travelling?

P3: To my opinion, travelling abroad helps us to do our life more interesting, helps us to study foreign languages speaking with native people.

T: Pay attention to the sights of the country because you should guess what these places are and then answer some questions. Before we start I want you to pay attention to the map on the blackboard.

I want to say, that the official name of Great Britain is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain consists of three parts: England, Scotland and Wales. The United Kingdom consists of four parts: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The climate in this country is mild. The capital of the country is London. The greatest rivers are: Thames, Severn, Avon. The biggest cities of Great Britain are Oxford, Cambridge, Birmingham, Manchester .

5. Повторение грамматического материала.

Вставить правильно артикль с географическими названиями (выполнение теста).

6. Домашнее задание.

Your home task will be to write story about your last trip.
