Ход урока.

  1. Объяснение целей и правил игры.

T: Dear children! Today we are having unusual lesson, we are having so-called 'brain ring'. For this purpose we need two teams, every team consists of 4 players and captain. And the rest of the pupils will be fan of the teams, but they also will take part in the game. During the game the teams will be

Given tasks. If the players know the answer, the captain should ring the bell. So teams take your places and we shall begin.

  1. Литературная викторина ' Guess Who.'

T: The quiz called 'Guess Who.' I'll read some information about a poet or a writer. And you, please, listen to it attentively and guess who it is about. The fans can help their teams if none of players know the answer.

  1. Литературная викторина 'Name the Characters'.

T: Every writer creates his own characters. Sometimes they are more known than the author himself. You'll be given some information about the characters of well-known literary works. Your task is to name these characters.

Daniel Defoe.

George Gordon Byron.

George Gordon Byron, a famous English poet, was born in London in 1788. After the death of his father his mother left London and lived with her son in Scotland. When the boy was eleven, his grandfather's brother died and the boy inherited the title of the lord. At seventeen he entered Cambridge University and there his literary career began.

The poet became famous in England and in other countries when he published his poem 'Child Harold's Pilgrimage'. He wrote many other poetical works. Pushkin and Lermontov liked this English poet. They translated some of his poems into Russian.

The poet traveled a lot. In Italy he joined the Carbounari, a revolutionary organization that was struggling for the national independence.

In Greece he fell ill with typhus and died in April 1824. The poet's name is well - known in our country and all over the world.
