5. Grammar: Comparative and superlative adjectives.

Comparative adjectives.

You form the comparative of most adjectives by adding "-er", "-ier", "more+adjective"

I.e. kinder, nicer, lazier, more careful.

Superlative adjectives.

You form the superlative of adjectives with "-est", "-st", "-iest" or "most+adjective"

I.e. kindest, nicest, laziest, most careful.

There are some irregular comparative and superlative adjectives:

Good-better-the best

Bad -worse-worst

Little-less-least

Much, many-more-most

• "How to be an American" (Американдықтардың мінез-құлықтары туралы оқып, мінез-құлық сын есімдерін табу-карточкамен жұмыс)

• Ex. 8. Find the adjectives the writer of the article might use to describe the characteristics of Americans.

Answer: friendly, emotional, polite, informal, cold, loudly.

• Compare your and American characteristics. I.e. Americans are friendly, and Kazakh are friendly too. Americans are loudly, but Kazakh aren't loudly.
