The theme of the lesson: The island. Phoneme "oo"

The Aims of the lesson:

  1. Educational: to get to know with pupils, to speak about themselves;

  2. Developing: to develop pupils` skills and habits in monologic and dialogic speech;

  3. Up- bringing: to bring up pupils to work in collaboration, to listen to each other;

  4. Practical: to train pupils in usage their vocabulary; to practice them in real use of language.

Basic part of the lesson

  1. vocabulary revision

  2. Mr Jolly's box. Children point to the box and listen.

  3. Play CD2 track 40. children listen the first time. Then they repeat in the pauses.

  4. Write the words on the board. Class reads.

  5. Volunteers come forward and underline oo in each word.

The focus in this lesson is on the vowel phoneme but the class should pronounce the sp consonant blend accurately as hey have studied it in Unit 6.

  1. Ask who or what is in the picture. Play CD2 track 41. Class listens and follows.

And silver balloons.

- Giving home tasks

- Marking
