"The sight of my town"

Тема: The sights of my town.

Задачи урока:

• отработать фонетические навыки на конкретных примерах;

• активизировать в речи учащихся изученную лексику по теме "Places of interest
  of London";

• активизировать грамм, материал по теме "Past simple'.

• ввести новую лексику по теме" The sights of my town".

• развивать умение применения полученных знаний в конкретной обстановке;

• прививать интерес к культуре, традициям, достопримечательностям Лондона
  и Казани;

• воспитывать умение работать в коллективе.

Оборудование: карта Великобритании и Северной Ирландии, карта Лондона, достопримечательности Лондона, достопримечательности Казани, игра "Strawberries into the basket", раздаточные тексты "Mysterious Kazan",таблица по теме: "Past Simple", раздаточные карточки с заданиями теста, магнитофон, компьютер (выполнение VIP теста, слайды), кукла Сююмбике в татарском национальном костюме.

Тип урока: урок-путешествие.

Ход урока.

/. Организационный момент.

Teacher: Good morning, my dear pupils. I am so glad to see you. Today we shall not read texts or learn dialogues. So now imagine that you are a group of Russian school children returning to our country from London. I hope that we shall enjoy our trip. But in order to come back to Kazan we must do many tasks and, of course, the Red Double- Decker bus (1 слайд) will help us during the whole our trip.

Teacher: Of course, we cannot go to London without knowing the right pronunciation.

That's why we are to remember a tongue-twister. (2 слайд)

III. Путешествие по Лондону.

Teacher: First of all we must revise the geographical position of the UK. Look at the map. It is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is situated on the British Isles. How many parts does it consist of? And what are their capitals?

1 .England. The capital is London. 2.Scotland. The capital is Edinburgh. 3.Wales The capital is Cardiff. 4.Northern Ireland. The capital is Belfast. (3 слайд)

Your task is to take one strawberry and translate the name of the sight from Russian into

English. And then to say a few words about them. So, I divide you into two teams.

1. reading and translation.

Kazan is one of the most beautiful and old city of the country. It is about 1000 years old. Over one million people live there. Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan.

Kazan is a city of wonderful beauty with rich historical background and quite a number of sights. They are the Kremlin, the Suyumbika Tower, the Kul Sharif Mosque, the Pyramid, and Kazan Circus and so on.

The Kremlin is situated on the bank of the Kazanka river. It is the heart of Kazan. The famous Pskov masters built it in the 16th century. The slightly inclined Suyumbika Tower has become a symbol of our city.

There are a lot of museums in Kazan. The National Museum is one of the best museums in Tatarstan. It shows the history of the region and its nature.

Going from Freedom Square you will see the Fine Arts Museum. It is a fine example of the architecture of the 19th century.

The Musa Jalil Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre is in Freedom square. There you can see the best European and Russian classics as well as the best Tatar operas and ballets, musical comedies. The G. Kamal State Academic Theatre performs the plays of Tatar and other authors in Tatarstan.

The famous Pskov masters built the Kremlin in the 16^th century. -Переведите предложение на русский язык, и определите: в каком времени стоит предложение? (Знаменитые псковские мастера построили Кремль в шестнадцатом веке.)

-Какое действие выражает Past Simple? (Past Simple выражает действие, которое произошло в прошлом и не имеет связи с настоящим.)

Built- глагол неправильный, поэтому взяли II форму.

А если глагол правильный, то мы прибавляем окончание ed.
