My native town - Novy Urengoy

Russia is a huge country and there are many beautiful and exciting places to visit. I live in Novy Urengoy - the town which is special in many ways. It is not big but modern. There are plants, factories, schools, hospitals, shopping centres, department stores, sports centres, banks, post offices, hotels. The streets are quiet and not very wide. However they are busy at rush hours. As for the houses, there are no skyscrapers, townhouses or cottages, but the blocks of flats are very colourful and attractive. There are also some detached houses.

Our town has many things to see and do for the whole family. One of the most popular places is a palace of culture and leisure "Gazodobytchik" where the citizens come to enjoy beautiful performances and concerts. Some sports events also take place here. There are museums, cinemas and even a zoo. Shopping centres are great places to go to have fun. There is a selection of trendy shops with the latest fashions, food outlets with a great atmosphere, games arcades and cinemas.

Sports lovers can work out in sports centres. They have a wide selection of activities for all fitness levels and abilities. There are gyms, swimming pools, special weights rooms with a collection of machines. When the weather is not very cold in winter you can go skating in the ice rink or sleigh down a steep snowy hill for fun. In summer people go to parks and squares, admire nature, explore interesting places and monuments in the town.

As for me, I live in a block of flats on the 9^th floor. My neighbourhood is quiet. There are 3 rooms in our flat. They are a living room and two bedrooms. There is also a kitchen, a hall, a bathroom and a toilet. I live far from my school and I have to take a bus to get there. (I live near my school and I don't have to take a bus, I go on foot there).

Speaking about the weather, it is often snowy, frosty and windy in winter. Summers are short and cool, but nature is very beautiful.

In conclusion I can say that my native town is very nice. I like it very much.
