Today we learn new grammar rule. We'll study how to read numerals and dates. Look at the board, please. You can see a placard with numerals. Let's listen to me and repeat after me all together. And now listen to these numerals once more on the tape.

1,000 - a (one) thousand

Well, you seem to have understood this rule. And now let's make up some exercises. Open your books on p. 16 and find out ex. 37. We shall say the following numerals: 156, 234, 375, 408, 591, 639, 702, 871, 948; 1,000; 1,723; 1,093; 2,568; 3,000; 5,000,000.

Well, that's all right. I see that this rule is not very difficult for you.

Look on p. 16 in your books, ex. 39. You should read the texts about these capitals. Each text contains the numerals. Be attentive when you'll read them. Ira, read the first text, please. Well done.
