Урок английского языка в 8 классе по теме «Inventions» («Изобретения»)

Урок проведен учителем английского языка осш №17 имени Лермонтова Туленовой А.С.

Тип урока: комбинированный

Цель урока: активизировать основные навыки учащихся (чтение, письмо,) монологическую и диалогическую речь, используя Интернет-ресурсы в режиме работы online

Задачи урока:

общеобразовательная

- активизировать лексико-грамматический материал по пройденной теме (степени сравнения прилагательных);

- ознакомить с грамматическим материалом на опережение (стpуктура
"I wish I had …"), необходимым для работы с Интернет-ресурсами по теме урока;

развивающая

- развивать информационную (готовность к работе с информационными источниками) и образовательную (готовность к самообразованию, в т.ч. способность к получению знаний из различных источников) компетентности учащихся

воспитывающая

- формировать социальную (готовность к взаимодействию, освоению новых способов деятельности, умение работать в команде) и коммуникативную (готовность и способность осуществлять устную и письменную коммуникации) компетентности;

Оборудование урока: компьютеры, дидактический материал на электронных и бумажных носителях;

Сценарий урока

1. Introduction. Вступительное слово учителя: сообщение темы и плана урока. На экране компьютера слайд с указанием темы урока, иллюстрации по теме и название Интернет-сайта, используемого на уроке, со ссылкой.

Teacher: We have learned some facts about useful inventions which were made in the long history of mankind. Most of them have really brought us comfort and convenience. We cannot imagine our life without electric lamps, cars or telephones, television or computers. You have known about talented inventors, some of them are Russians and we can be proud of their achievements. Today we are going to try to get some additional information about inventions with the help of the Internet resources.

You will also get a chance to share your own ideas of future inventions in the "Idea wish list".

2. Warm up. Group work.Учитель предлагает разделиться на группы по 3 человека для выполнения задания. Группы получают список изобретений, предлагаемый для обсуждения.

Teacher:

A. Put the following inventions in order from the most useful (1) to the least useful(7).

bubble gum, the theory of relativity, the printing press, corn flakes, the hula hoop, tea, the can opener

Представитель от группы сообщает результаты обсуждения классу. Результаты сравниваются.

S1: We think the most useful invention is the printing press because people got books. The least useful is bubble gum as it has no use.

S2: In our opinion, the most useful is the invention of tea, because it's good for health. The least useful is corn flakes as a kind of unhealthy food.

B. Match the inventions to the inventors. (Учащиеся выполняют задания на карточках)

3. On-line activities.

A) Учитель предлагает учащимся проверить свои ответы, выйдя в открытый Интернет на соответствующий сайт.

Teacher: To check your answers:

• go to ideafinder.com and click "Enter";

- click "History facts and myth" on the left in the menu;

- come to "Inventor biography" and find the inventors' names from the second

column of the table;

- read about the inventions and check your answers.

B) Учащиеся знакомятся с новой грамматической структурой "I wish I had…, необходимой при заполнении на сайте «Списка пожеланий идей для новых

изобретений».

Teacher:

• in the site "Great Idea Finder" click "Idea showcase" at the top of the page, then "Idea wish list";

- find the wish for the new idea and decide in the group which is most useful or interesting;

- read an idea to the class;

S1: We think the most interesting idea is about a machine you could walk through and make you smile and feel better about yourself and others around you.

S2: We think the most useful idea is about a way to waterproof personal audio players so that we could surf or swim laps while listening to our own tunes.

Teacher:

- complete the sentence: I wish I had…

(Предложения зачитываются учащимися вслух и переводятся на русский язык с целью анализа новой структуры)

S1: I WISH I had a "relaxation station" at my desk that could play soothing music, nature sounds, give out an essence of my favorite scent or scent of choice at the time, offer inspiring words. A brief moment of peace or pick-me-up in one unit.- Sioux City IA

C) Тренировка новой структуры в речи с целью выполнения письменного задания на сайте (заполнение списка пожеланий новых изобретений собственными идеями).

Teacher:

- think about the things that you would really like to be invented. Complete these sentences (individual work):

I wish I had …

It would be a thing that we could use to …

It would help us do …

- share your ideas with the class;

- scroll down to the bottom of the "Idea wish list" page;

- click "If you didn't find it here, then tell us what consumer product you wish

were available". You can enter a wish here;

- enter the wish in the box provided and click "Agree" and "Submit" (you don't

have to include personal contact information).

4. Conclusion. Подведение итогов.

Teacher: Today we've learned how to use the Internet resources to find some more additional information on the topic of the lesson. We've got a chance to find out that the Internet can be used as a library of interconnected texts, as a channel of communication and as a reference. Besides, it can become a rich resource for self- study in order to improve your English.

5. Homework. Домашнее задание. Учащиеся получают карточки, которые им предлагается заполнить, используя Интернет - ресурсы.
