The theme: Domestic animals
Objectives :
• to present the names of the domestic animals;
• to practise pronunciation and memorizing;
By the end of the lesson pupils will be able
• to name the domestic animals;
• to practice activities for developing listening skills;
Key language: a cow, a pig, a sheep, a hen, a goat, a horse, a duck, a donkey.
Pre-listening activity: Teacher shows the pictures of domestic animals for all pupils. Then he/she say the names of animals in their mother tongue. Then pupils repeat these animals in English after the teacher. The teacher asks what other domestic animals they know. They may answer: rabbit, dog …
Activity 1. Listen, say and point.
Objectives: to elicit the names of domestic animals in English and ask what animal they like best;
to prepare for the main activity;
Materials: Flashcards (a cow, a pig, a sheep, a hen, a goat, a horse, a duck, a donkey)
Interaction: group work.
While-listening activity: Teacher gives out a picture of the domestic animals for all pupils. He/she explains that they'll listen to music about domestic animals. If someone hears the name of the animal in his picture while music is playing, he/she should remember the name of the animal and what voice they make. The pupils must repeat after the teacher, e.g. a cow says moo-moo, etc.
Activity 2 Listen and name.
Objectives: Checking pupils' listening skills
Materials: Flashcards of the animals
Interaction: Individual

Post-listening activity: Pupils listen to the song one more time and draw domestic animals in their notebooks. After name the animal which they draw.
3. Home assignment:
Ask the pupils to draw the animals. (a cow, a pig, a sheep, a hen, a goat, a horse, a duck, a donkey);
