Theme: "The fauna of Kazakhstan."

Educational aims: to develop mental abilities (to be able to analyze, compare, contrast, memory, imagination, will power).
Practical aims: (Objectives)

  1. to get acquainted with new vocabulary

  2. to practice the vocabulary

  3. to develop skills in reading and speaking

  4. to practice the grammar item

Cultural aims: 1. to extend pupil's knowledge of the world in which they live

2. to get acquainted with the life, customs and traditions of the target language speakers.


Language and linguistic materials: Gerund, new vocabulary.


The type of the lesson: mixed


The kind of the lesson: learner-centered lesson


Methods: explaining, question-answer, brainstorming, comparing, giving information, acting out and vocabulary


Equipment:

a) teaching aids: blackboard, the computer, the interactive board, tape recorder

b) teaching materials:

the students' book "Almaty Kitap", the teacher's book, dictionaries, manuals, selected readings, visual materials (objects, realia, flashcards, sentence cards, wall-charts, posters, pictures, photographs, albums, maps, plans, slides, filmstrips)cards with exercises, audio-visual materials (sound film loops, films, movies), audio materials (typescripts, CD with typescripts, records, cassettes)
Literature: the students' book "Almaty Kitap", the teacher's book, dictionaries, manuals, selected readings.

  1. Warm - up:

1. to develop skills in speaking
2. to practice the vocabulary
2) Teaching aids and materials: interactive board, cards, board, Ss book.
3) Equipment: Ss book p.48.

4) Steps: 5) Regimes:
1. The T presents the poem "Our love for nature"
on the interactive board. T --- Cl
The Ss listen to the poem.
2. The T reads the poem again. T --- Cl
3. The Ss show their understanding of the poem. T --- Cl
4. The Ss read the poem with the T in unison. T --- Cl
5. The T asks first bright, then average, last slow Ss. T --- S1, S2, S3


6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal.

II. Checking of Homework.

1. to practice the grammar (revision of Tenses)
2) Teaching aids and materials: Ex 7, p.67 Student's book

2. The Ss read the sentences one by one
and explain why they had put this or that Tense. T --- S1, S2, S3 …

Ш. Oral practice

1) Objectives:
1. to get acquainted with new vocabulary
2. to develop skills in reading.
3. to practice the Grammar item
4. to practice the new vocabulary.
2) Teaching aids and materials: pp. 70-72, Ex-s 4 - 6.
3) Equipment: Students' book, Teacher's book.

4) Steps: 5) Regimes:
1. Before reading. The T presents the new vocabulary. T --- Cl

2. The T asks the Ss to close the books and say
the new words and their synonyms. T --- Cl

3. The T says that they will read the text about
the fauna of Kazakhstan. T --- Cl

4. The Ss read the text and translate some sentences if it is necessary
to understand or explain. Ex.3, p.70. S1, S2, S3
5. After reading the text the T do ex.4, p.71 and ex.5, p.71. S1, S2, S3
6. The T shows the rule on the board and explains it. T --- Cl
7. The Ss do Ex.6, p.72.
