РАЗРАБОТКА «ПЕСНЯ НА УРОКЕ АНГЛИЙСКОГО ЯЗЫКА» (9 класс)

Lesson plan

Theme: "A Man in 1950's"

Type of lesson: Task-based Learning

Objective: To practice to describe a place that would match a man's personality and interests, using linking ideas with so and such.

Aims: 1) Grammar: Present Simple in the function of describing.

2) Functional exponents: It's big enough with such a lovely view…; …though it's not as big as the other rooms; it's so untidy…

3) Vocabulary: lexis to describe somebody's personality, interests and home (сheap, chic, classy, contemporary, dated, delicate, a bit thin, rather attractive, quite dark, much younger, slightly shy, fairly serious, reserved, vain, outgoing, keen on healthy living, musical, flattering, reliable, really relaxing place, enormous kitchen, big old-fashion stove, wooden floors, open fireplace, lots of rooms for entertaining, far-sized room, relaxed atmosphere, massive desk, loads of light…).

4) Phonology: focus on accurate pronunciation of the vocabulary.

5) Listening: listening to a song to check predictions, to put the jumbled verses in the correct order, to correct factual mistakes.

6) Speaking: controlled practice, freer practice.

Aids: Illustration of a man in 1950's, a tape, felt pens, paper, blackboard.

Tapescript

They seek him here, they seek him there,

His clothes are loud, but never round.

It will make or break him so he's got to buy the best,

'Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.

And when he does his little rounds,

Round the boutiques of Paris Town,

Eagerly pursuing all the latest fads and trends,

'Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.

Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).

He thinks he is a picture to be looked at,

This pleasure-seeking individual always looks his best,

'Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.

Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).

There's one thing that he loves and that is flattery.

One day he's in polka-dots, the next day he's in stripes.

'Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.

They seek him here, they seek him there,

In Regent Street and Leicester Square.

Everywhere the Carnabetian army marches on,

Each one a dedicated follower of fashion.

Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).

His world is built 'round libraries and studies.

This pleasure-seeking individual always looks his best

'Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.

Oh yes he is (oh yes he is), oh yes he is (oh yes he is).

He flits from shop to shop just like a bird.

In matters of the cloth he is as fickle as can be,

'Cause he's a dedicated follower of fashion.
