Ход урока:

I. Beginning of the Lesson.

Hello, boys and girls! I am glad to see you. What a nice day today! Do you like the weather ?Is it your favourite season? What is your favourite season? Do you like summer? Why? Do you like to travel in summer? Where do you like to travel? Would you like to travel to the UK? What would you like to see in the UK?(Указываю на тему урока)

II. Phonetic Drill. Say after me:

1. [r]-royal, a royal place,

camera, camera Obscura,

factory, the Fun Factory.

countryside, wonderful countryside,

Safari, Safary Park

driver, Driver Awareness Courses,

Look at the map and say what you would like to visit in the UK( to see, to take part in, where to walk, to go)

(I'd like to visit the Museum of Viking Culture in York. I am interested in history of this country. etc.)

IV. Oral Practice

1. Dialogue.

Choose where to go and advise what to take for your travelling.

(e.g.-Hello, Mike.

-Hi, Pete!

-Oh, I see you are packing your clothes. Are you going to travel?

-Yes. I am leaving to Britain.

-What place?

-I'd like to visit Stratford-upon-Avon and go boating in a river.

-You are lucky.But watch out. You should take a first aid kit and

a health insurance.

-Shall I take my warm sweater?

-I think you needn't. It's quite warm in summer there.

-OK. Thank you.

2. Speaking.

There are a lot of sights in Great Britain. We know many of them. But there are

still much more we don't know.

On p.p.44-45 we can see some photos taken from the travel leaflets. What places do they advise you to visit? Do you know?

Let's make three groups. Each group will take 2 pictures, find the description and say if you would like to visit this place and why.

V. Listening.

1. And now listen to the telephone information of the travel agency and say

what city it is about.

( Edinburgh )

2. What can we say about this city? Use the words in ex. 1,p.44

(Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. It is an ancient and beautiful city. It is

famous for its historic architecture. There are many sights there. The most

popular tourist place is Edinburgh Castle. It is situated on a high hill-the

Castle Rock. You can visit Camera Obscura and take part in an Art

Festival. You can enjoy fine squares and parks. It is the most romantic city

in Britain.)

VI. Reading.

Who gave the information about Edinburgh? (The travel agency.)

Do you know anything about travel agencies?

Ex.I, p.66.

Look at the picture. Do you know who this man is? What is his name?

Scan the text and find the paragraph about this man.
