Цель: Знакомство с жизнью современных подростков России и Британии

Задачи:

Познавательная: ознакомить с проблемами современных подростков, ознакомиться с лексикой по теме.

Учебная : научить работать над компьютерными презентациями.

Практическая: научить применять знания на уроке и во внеурочное время.

Воспитательная: воспитывать чувство уважения к сверстникам , проживающим в англоговорящих странах

Оснащение: компьютер, проектор, презентации обучающихся.

The teacher greets the pupils.

Актуализация знаний:

Let's start the lesson with associations. On the blackboard you can see the word CONSUMERS Your associations, please. (Pupils name - clothes, fashion, pocket money, etc.). Can you guess what we are going to talk about today? Right, about problems of Russian and British teenagers.

By the end of the lesson you will have learned about:

• Teens' possessions

• If you are responsible with money

• We will give the definition of the word "materialist"

T: The name of the text is New Materialists. Why? What does materialist mean?

T: Right. Materialist is a person who believes that money, possessions and physical comfort are more important than spiritual values in life.

T: Look through the text and find the words built from these ones using affixes

T: We have just read the text about British teens and now let's see if you are materialistic or not. How responsible are you with your money? Open your books p.40, section Across the curriculum. Debate the situations. What would you do in these situations?

T: We talked a lot about materialists in Britain and we debate if Russian teenagers are materialistic or not.

T: Did you like the topic we talked about today? What new information did you receive? Would you like to know if teens in many other countries have the same problems?

Домашнее задание. Творческое.

T: Your homework will be different. One group of pupils will use the Internet and tell us about teen problems in the USA. The others will make computer presentations about teens in Canada and Australia and their problem of pocket money.
