The theme of the lesson: What are you going to do during your holiday?


Aims of the lesson :
I. Educational:

-to introduce the Present Perfect Tense and activate it
-to improve speaking abilities of pupils through checking presentation
-to revise can and introduce could activate could in practice
II.Developing:

To develop speaking, reading, writing skills.
To develop outlook of pupils
To train their memory
To increase their interest to the language by means of expressing the opinion based on the vocabulary learned
III. Bringing up :
To bring up skills of communication, to respect the other's opinion.
To bring up the tolerant and kindness

The type of the lesson: combined lesson
The methods: explanation, question - answer, complex work, individual work, interactive
Visual aids: cards, posters, pictures.
Resources: an interactive board, slides

Procedure of the lesson:
I Organisation moment
1.Greeting the students:
Good afternoon dear pupils and guests! I'm glad to see you. My name is Gulnara Kamitovna and I'll be your teacher of English today.

How are you today?
Who is on duty today? Who is absent today?
What date is it today? What day is it today?
What is the weather like today?

II. Warming-up: - Thank you, sit down. And now comrades, look at the blackboard. This is a small poem for you. First I'll read it and then you 'll repeat after me in chorus.

Two Little Birds Sitting On a Wall

Two little birds
Sitting on a wall,
One called Peter,
One called Paul.

Fly away Peter,
Fly away Paul,
Come back Peter,
Come back Paul.

(Reading the poem in chorus then ask 3-4 pupils to read it)

T- Now, according to the colour of the paper, let's divide into groups.

You see that all these pictures are connected with holiday, what children do during their holiday.We know a little time left for our holidays. And we can say what we are going to do during our holiday.

IV. Presentation of the new theme

And the theme of our lesson today is What are you going to do during your holiday? (To put down the theme)

- And now, comrades, please answer my questions:

- Have you ever been to Astana?

- Have you ever been to America?

- Are you going to go to America?

- Do you want to see New York in America?


Reading skills: - Pupils, you know that Asel and Dmitry are in New York on holiday. They want to see some places of interest there. Let's practice the pronunciation of the names of places.

Repeat after me in chorus:

VI. Relaxation

Writing skills: Ex.3, p.139.The students tell what places they have visited, are going to visit, haven't visited yet.
St 1 - I have visited Astana. I 'm going to go to Almaty. I haven't been to Almaty yet
St 2 - I have been to Kokshetau. I 'm going to go to Burabai. I haven't been to Burabai yet.

Practising questions:

  • St 1 - What are you going to do during your holidays?
    St 2 - I'm going to go to Russia
    St 3- Have you been to Russia?
    St 4 - No, I haven't
    St 5 - What are you going to do tonight?
    St 6 - I 'm going to watch TV

VIII. An Essay

So, children, now we try to write an essay on the theme

What we are going to do during the holidays?
During the holiday I am going to go to ……………… (Astana, London, New York).

I haven't been to………(Astana, London, New York) yet.

In ………..(Astana, London, New York) I want to see ……….. ( Baiterek, Statue of Liberty, Akorda, Big Ben, Chinatown, Trafalgar square, Empire State Building, Khan Shatyry, Tower of London, Broadway, the first President museum, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace).

I like to travel by ………( plane, car, train, ship).I'm going to take my ………..(friend, mother, father, grandfather, sister, brother) with me.
