Урок с использованием технологии критического мышления по теме «Ecological Problems» в 10 классе ( Английский язык X класс учебник для общеобразовательных учреждений и школ с углубленным изучением английского языка с приложением на электронном носителе. О.В.Афанасьева, И.В.Михеева, 2012г

Цель

урока

Формирование ключевых языковых компетенций на уроке английского языка

Задачи

урока:

Практическая:

-Промотивировать УУД в развитии навыков говорении и чтении ;

Образовательная:

-формирование коммуникативной компетенции в говорении и аудировании;

Воспитательные:

- повышение мотивации к изучению английского языка, воспитание чувства взаимопомощи умения работать в команде.

Развивающие:

-содействовать установлению в сознании ребенка устойчивых связей между накопленным и новым опытом познавательной и практической деятельности;

-формировать и развивать учебно-организационные умения и навыки (взаимоконтроль, самостоятельная работа, коллективная деятельность);

-развивать способность к рефлексии, как важнейшей составляющей умения учиться.

-распределять информацию по степени новизны и значимости, обобщать полученные знания.

Тип урока:

Урок комплексного применения знаний с использованием электронно-образовательных ресурсов.

Личностные:

-формировать умение соотносить результат действия с поставленной целью и выражать их в речи;

Регулятивные:

-вносить необходимые коррективы в действия после его завершения на основе его оценки и учета характера сделанных ошибок;.

Коммуникативные:

-вступать в учебное сотрудничество с учителем и одноклассниками, осуществлять совместную деятельность;

Познавательные:

-понимать информацию, представленную в разных формах-схематичной , модельной и переводить ее в словесную форму.

Форма

урока:

Урок решения практических задач. Фронтальная, индивидуальная и групповая формы работы.

Стратегии: кластер, «тонкие» и «толстые» вопросы, инсерт , мозговой штурм, антиципация (предположение), синквейн.

Оборудование: документ камера, Смарт доска, видео М.Джексона "Earth Song ", раздаточные материалы.

Этапы учебного процесса.

I.Подготовительный этап.

1.Организационный момент.

Введение в языковую среду. Проверяется готовность к уроку.

Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you.

2. Вызов: методы и приемы-мозговой штурм, кластер, антиципация.

1) Учитель, мотивируя познавательную деятельность учащихся , ставит вопрос:

What can you say about the weather today?

Do you think such kind of weather is typical of our region?

Can you give other examples where the weather has changed recently?

What are the reasons for such changes in your opinion?

2) Now listen to me and try to guess what the theme of our lesson is.

Look at the apple. Imagine it's our Earth. I'm cutting it into 4 pieces. Three quarters of the Earth surface is water and only ¼ is land. One half it is habitable. The rest of the land is the deserts, mountains, frozen ice - caps and other places where people cannot live in. And now I'm cutting this half into 4 parts. It's impossible to believe but only 1/32 gives us food and shelter. And it will be a catastrophe if we destroy it. You should pay more attention to what is happening around you, and save the world for future generations.

Can you tell me , what we are going to speak about?

II.Основной этап урока.

1.Стадия вызова-Evocation.

What do you think about when you hear the word -combination "Enviromental problems"? Look at the screen, please. Here you can see a claster.

What words and word combinations can you put in this claster? Why do you think so?

(Возможные варианты: chemical waste, air pollution, water pollution, endangered animals, unhealthy food, a lot of litter).

b) - Now I want you to fill in the table. You have to recollect and write down 5 nouns, 5 adjectives and 5 verbs connected with our theme. You will need this words to speak about our topic and later to make a cinquain.

(Возможные варианты: world, pollution, health, animal, problem; unhealthy, polluted, international, serious, dangerous; pollute, kill, damage, save, help).

2. Стадия осмысления (Realization of meaning).Методы и приемы: инсерт (аудирование с пометками), стратегия -вопросительные слова.

We are going to watch Michael Jackson's video clip "Earth Song" .May be some of you have seen it. In the song M.J. issues a plea to God about different problems.

This song drew the world's attention to the degradation and bastardization of the earth as a fall out of various human activities.

I'd like to stress your attention that this video was filmed in 4 geographical regions. The 1^st location was the Amazon Rainforest. Natives of the region appeared in the video and were not actors. The 2^nd scene was a war zone in Karlovac, Croatia. The 3^rd location was Tanzania, which incorporated scenes of illegal poaching and hunting into the video. The final location was in Warwick, New York, where a safe forest fire was simulated in a corn field.

While listening your task will be to put down all the ecological problems mentioned in the song.

3.Before proceeding to discussion, let's do an exercise. Give derivatives to the words you have heard in the song. It will help you later in the discussion of the topic.

4.Let's speak about the problems you have seen in the film (animal cruelty, deforestation, pollution, poverty, war).

Let's speak about deforestation.

-What is deforestation?

-What are the reasons for it?

-Can you say that all deforestation is intentional?

-What are the effects of deforestation?

-Can you think about any solutions to deforestation?

And what about pollution? What types of pollution do you know?( Air, water, nuclear pollution)

Air pollution

-What can you say about it?

-What are the main sources of such pollution?

-What can we do to reduce pollution?

-Give examples of air pollution

Water pollution

-Is water pollution one of the largest problems? Why or why not?

-What are the effects of such pollution?

-What must we do to solve this problem?

Nuclear pollution

-What is nuclear pollution?

-What are the effects of nuclear pollution?

Animal cruelty and endangered animals

5.Now open your text-books p 105 ex9. Look through the text and name only those organizations that deal with animal.

Now work in groups and make 2 thin and 2 thick questions on the text.

6.Стадия рефлексии.

Let's return to our cluster and add new information to it concerning ecological problems and possible solutions.

I believe you can speak about the environmental problems and the possible solutions.

So your hometask will be-the members of each group prepare oral composition on one particular theme-pollution, deforestation, endangered animals.

Let's summarize everything .

We have to make 5points.

1-What are we talking about today? (a general word)

2-Two adjectives describing it

3-Three verbs on the topic

4-The main idea of your poem (the sentence describing your topic)

5-A synonym of a general word

IV. Заключительный этап урока.

The theme of our lesson was very important and serious. I'd like to hear your reflection on the lesson.

What was the most interesting part of the lesson?

What was boring for you?

Will the lesson help you to do your homework?

What was new for you?
