Данная викторина может быть проведена среди учащихся общеобразовательных школ после прохождения тем, связанных с изучением страноведческого материала по теме «The USA" или "The UK" на обобщающем уроке либо может послужить основой для проведения КВН.

Цель- способствовать формированию интереса к культуре народов, говорящих на изучаемом языке, воспитанию толерантности, уважительного отношения к истории и традициям этих стран; развитие памяти, внимания, познавательных способностей, группового взаимодействия.

Ответ:

Дядя Сэм возник как олицетворение США во время британо-американской войны 1812 года. Выражение «Дядя Сэм» связано с мясником по имени Сэмюэль Уилсон, который поставлял провизию на американскую базу Трой. Сэм Уилсон маркировал бочки с мясом буквами U.S., имея ввиду Соединённые штаты, а солдаты в шутку говорили, что мясо прибывало от дядя Сэма.
