Тема: " Can an elephant swim?"

Мета: удосконалювати мовну та мовленнєву компетенції учнів, підвищити ефективність засвоєння необхідних знань з теми, систематизувати навички за темою «Тварини», закріпити вміння вживати граматичну структуру It can, It cannot; розвивати пізнавальні здібності учнів: увагу, сприймання, пам'ять; розвивати мовленеву реакцію, здатність до здогадки, сприяти розвитку допитливості та інтелекту, творчої уяви; виховувати почуття співпраці під час роботи в парах та колективно, формувати знання про довкілля, підвищувати загальну культуру учнів.

Обладнання: підручник з англійської мови А. Несвіт 2кл., ноутбук, презентація.

Тип уроку: повторення та закріплення надань, умінь та навичок.

Хід уроку

1. Організаційна частина уроку

1. Привітання і повідомлення теми уроки

T: Good morning, children!

Ps: Good morning, A.I.

T: I am very glad to see you!

Ps: Glad to see you too.

T: Thank you very much, children. Take your sits. We start our lesson. Today we`ll play games, speak about animals and what they can do. I think our lesson will be interesting and useful. So let`s start our work.

2. Фонетична зарядка

Be ready for the phonetic exercises. Let`s prepare your tongues for the English language.

[ d, d, d ] - dolphin

[ b, b, b ] - bear

[p, p, p ] - parrot

[ f, f, f ] - fish

[ h, h, h ] - horse

[ s, s, s ] - snake

[ z, z, z ] - zebra

Listen to the tongue-twister and repeat as quickly as you can:

Hickety, pickety, my black cat

Likes to sit in my blue hat.

(Скоромовка повторюється багато разів, кожен раз скоріше. Учні намагаються розповісти її самостійно).

3. Перевірка домашнього завдання

T: Last lesson we read and wrote some English proverbs about the animals. And your home task was to translate, draw one of the proverbs and find the Ukrainian equivalents.

(Учні читають прислів'я та перекладають їх, демонструючи свої малюнки).

T: When the cat is away, the mice will play.

P: Коли кіт піде, миші будуть грати - Кішка з дому, миші в пляс.

T: It is a good horse that never stumbles.

P: Добрий кінь той, що ніколи не спотикнеться.

T: Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.

P: Не рахуй курчат поки вони не вилупляться із яйця. - Не кажи гоп, поки не перескочиш.

T: Better an egg today then a hen tomorrow

P: Краще яйце сьогодні, ніж курка завтра. - Краще синиця в руках, ніж журавель в небі.

T: Every dog has his day.

P: Кожний собака має свій день. - Буде і на нашої вулиці свято.

T: One should not look a gift horse in the mouth

P: Не слід дивитися дарованому коню у рот. - Дарованому коню в зуби не дивляться.

T: Let`s sleeping dogs lie.

P: Нехай спляча собака лежить. - Не буди лихо, поки воно тихе.

T: A cat in gloves catches no mice.

P: Кіт у рукавичках не впіймає жодної миші. - Без труда нема плода і рибки зі ставка.

T: Very good. Thank you very much. You did the work successfully. And please, say whose picture you like most of all.

(Учні обговорюють малюнки, виражають свою думку стосовно того, наскільки точно зображений зміст прислів'я, вибирають кращу роботу)

2. Основна частина уроку

T: We learnt the names of different animals. And you know that animals can be wild and farm. And also there are animals that live in our flats and houses. We love them and take care of them. These animals are our pets.

Now, please look at the next slide and say what animals you can see.

P_1: I see a lion. A lion is a wild animal.

P₂: I see a horse. A horse is a farm animal.

P₃: I see a fish. A fish is a pet, etc.

T: Look at the next slide. You see the names of animals. In each line there is a word which is different from the others. Your task is to choose the odd one out.

T: Right you are. You are very attentive students. And now answer where the wild animals live.

P_s: They live in the forest/ in the jungle/ in desert/ in the oceans/ in rivers/ in the mountains.

T: Good. And what about farm animals? Where do they live?

P_s: They live on the farm.

T: And where do the pets live?

P_s: They live in the flats / houses.

T: Good answers. But now look at the pictures onсe more and answer my questions. Be attentive!

T: Can you see a fish?

P₁: Yes, I can.

T: Where is it?

P₁: It is in the river.

T: Can you see a camel?

P₂: Yes, I can.

T: Where is it?

P₂: It is in desert.

T: Well. Thank you. Now, please, Misha, ask Nadia if she can see a monkey.

M: Nadia, can you see a monkey?

N: Yes, I can.

M: Where is it?

N: It is in the forest.

T: Now we all together have a trip. Look at the next slide and say where we are.

T: OK, traveler, you are tired after your traveling. Let`s have a rest and play a game. I say where we are and you imitate those animals which live there.

• We are in desert!

• We are in the forest!

• We are on the farm!

• We are in the jungles!

T: Oh, thank you very much. Excellent play! You are very talented actors.

And now look at the next slide. Read, please, the text and answer my question "What can it do?"

P_s: A giraffe can run.

P_s: A lion can eat rabbits.

P_s: A cat can see at night.

P_s: A hippo can see and hear in the water.

P_s: A crocodile can eat meat and swim.

T: Very good. Read the text once more and then say about these animals everything that you know.

T: This lesson we say what animals can do. But now you should say not only what they can do, but also say what they can`t do.

Look at the next slide. Ask and answer the questions according to the models. Work in pairs.

T: Ok, well done. Now let's play a game "Guess the animal". Look at the next slide. You can see some animals. Masha, please, look at the animals and choose one. We ask you some questions and try to guess what animal it is.

Ps: Can it run? - M: Yes, it can.

Ps: Is it a lion? - M: Yes, it is.
