Objectives:

  1. SWAT check the knowledge of GPPW

  2. SWAT practice three languages

  3. SWAR compete in groups

Language: Kazakh, Russian, English

Duration: 1 hour

Participants: groups of 11 grades

Average number of the groups: 3-4

Number of students in each group: 3-4

Procedure of Alias

There are different coloured circles on the floor. They are organized like the steps in different colours. Students work in groups. The participants are given only one minute in order to answer the question. They are given cards with some concepts, like: conflict, global warming and impact of the internet and etc. One person from the group is the person who is explaining, the rest of the group should find the concept. The group which wins more points than others is the winner of this competition.

Teacher explains the rules of Alias. Rules of this activity:

  1. You shouldn't cheat

  2. You should answer only one minute.

  3. During one minute you should find the definitions of the given concepts.

  4. If you answer one or more questions in one minute, you have to move forward for one or more steps. The number of steps will depend on your answers. More correct answers, more steps ahead.

  5. On every colour you should answer the questions. You should answer the questions which is suitable for your colour. E.g: You are staying on the red colour, you should say the definition of the concepts which in the red colour in your paper.

  6. The group which will be on the finish the first will be the winner of this competition.

  7. Don't interrupt each other.

  8. Groups play one by one.

  9. For explaining different concepts they can use different languages. Even so they can say the translation of the words.

  10. If the word is difficult to explain you can use mime and jests.

  11. The words should not be cognates of the given word.
