Опыт проведения недели английского языка в школе показывает, что страноведческие викторины способствуют формированию страноведческой компетенции и проявлению индивидуальных возможностей учащихся с различными уровнями подготовленности.
Дети больше узнают об обычаях, традициях, нравах, культуре, которые отражены в материале викторин. Это, безусловно, повышает интерес к изучению иностранных языков, стимулирует интеллектуальную и языковую активность, что приводит к общему повышению культурного уровня учащихся. Изучая язык, человек осваивает не только обязательный минимум школьной программы, но и за этим стоят культура, воспитание, развитие интеллектуальных способностей учащихся, их общеобразовательного потенциала.
