"Travelling around English-speaking countries"

Цели:

- Обучающая: создать условия для формирования лексических и грамматических навыков;

- Развивающая: способствовать обучению школьников отвечать на вопросы по содержанию урока

- Воспитательная: показать, что работа в форме соревнования способствует эффективному усвоению материала

Задачи:

1. Закрепить навыки перевода англоязычного текста на русский язык

2. Проверить знания учащихся по темам «Англоязычные страны», «Неправильные глаголы», «Страны, флаги, языки»

3. Предоставить учащимся самостоятельно дать оценку работы класса на уроке.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями, вопросами, жетоны, флаги, иллюстрации

Ход урока

1. Орг. момент.

Hello, boys and girls. How are you today? (Fine, thanks. How are you?). Today we are going to travel around English-speaking countries. First of all, let's name them. They are: (The UK, Canada, The USA, Australia, New Zealand)

2. Основная часть. Соревнование.

1. Great Britain

Let's start our trip from Great Britain. You've prepared a short report about this country. (Один ученик рассказывает заранее подготовленное сообщение о Великобритании).

So, let's start with our competition. You are divided into two groups. Now I need one person from each group to come here and have a speed quest. In Great Britain you are to match the name of the country with its Russian equivalent. (Один ученик выходит из каждой команды, выполняют задание на скорость).

The rest of you'll have some questions about Great Britain. You have time to think your answers over. (Учащиеся вытягивают карточки, 1 вопрос на двоих учеников из команды. Первый ученик, быстрее справившийся с заданием на скорость, приносит команде 1 балл).

Now, let's check your answers. You are to read, translate the question and answer it. (За правильный ответ выдаю жетон-флажок, за помощь другой команды - флажок меньшего размера, 0.5 балла).

Please count your flags. The winner in British competition is the Team … . You get the flag of Great Britain! (Снимаю с доски флаг Великобритании, вручаю победившей команде).

2. Canada

Now we are moving to Canada. Let's listen to a short report about this country. (Ученик делает доклад о Канаде).

Again, I need one person from each team to have a speed quest. In Canada you are to place the names of the countries in alphabetic order. The others will choose the questions about Canada. (Двое учеников участвуют в соревновании на скорость, остальные получают вопросы о Канаде).

Let's check your answers. Now, count your flags. The winner is the Team … . You get the flag of Canada.

3. Let's go to the USA now and revise some facts about this country. (Сообщение).

In the quest you are to match 3 forms of Irregular Verbs. The others will have time to think over the answers to the questions.

4. It's time to go to Australia now. Let's listen to a report about this country. Again, I need one person from each country to compete in a speed quest. Here you are to match the country and the language. The rest will have the questions about Australia.

Please count your flags. The winner is the Team … . You get the flag of Australia.

5. To finish our trip let's go New Zealand and listen to a short report about it.

In the speed quest you are to match the flags with the countries. The others get the questions.

Please count your flags. The winner is the Team … and you get the flag of New Zealand.

Now we can name the winner of our travel competition. Count your flags of English-speaking countries. The winner is … .

3. Подведение итогов урока

Now I want you to write down 1-2 sentences about our lesson. Was the lesson interesting and useful for you? What new facts did you find out? Would you like to have such lessons in future? (Ученики записывают свои впечатления об уроке).
