Тема - Holidays in Great Britain - заключительный урок по теме.

Учебно-методический комплекс - любой.

Время реализации: 1 урок (45 минут).

Образовательное учреждение: Московская область, г. Сергиев Посад, Муниципальное Бюджетное Общеобразовательное Учреждение «Средняя Общеобразовательная Школа № 6».

Оборудование:

• аудио проигрыватель;

• карточки с заданиями;

• проектор, ПК, презентация (среда Microsoft Power Point);

• призы, грамоты.

Вид урока: урок актуализации знаний и умений.

Цель урока: повторение пройденного материала по теме «Holidays in Great Britain».

Задачи урока:

1. образовательные:

- закрепить пройденный материал;

- активизировать в речи лексические единицы по теме «Праздники в Великобритании»;

- расширить фоновые знания учащихся (знакомство с праздниками в Великобритании);

- расширить лингвистический кругозор учащихся;

- сформировать и развить коммуникативные умения учащихся.

2. развивающие:

• развить навыки диалогической и монологической речи;

• развивать интеллектуальные и познавательные способности учащихся, готовности помочь друг - другу;

• развивать культуру общения в разных видах коллективного взаимодействия;

• развивать языковую догадку;

• развитить умения восприятия и понимания иноязычной речи на слух;

• развить наглядно-образное мышление за счет повышения уровня наглядности.

  3. воспитательные:

- воспитывать культуру взаимоотношений при работе в группе, коллективе;

- содействовать повышению уровня мотивацию к изучению английского языка;

- формировать у учащихся чувство уважения к истории и культуре страны изучаемого языка, а через это и к своей национальной культуре.

3. Озвучивание темы урока. Постановка целей урока и мотивация.

That's great! Today we'll speak about holidays in Great Britain. So, every country and nation has its own traditions and customs. It's very important to know this information, especially if we want to know their language. We can't say: "We know English", if we do not know English traditions.

4. Активизация изученного материала.

What holidays do people celebrate in our country? Tell me what is your favorite holiday?

(Ответы учеников).

Ok. Now let's divide into 4 groups.

Учитель делит класс на команды. Учащиеся придумывают название командам. Записываем их на доске, предварительно поделив доску на число команд - 4.

a). Let's remember all the words on the topic «Holidays».

Команды по очереди называют слова, учитель прикрепляет/записывает их на доске. Команда, у которой больше слов получает балл.

b). What British holidays do you know?

Учащиеся называют праздники Великобритании. Затем каждой команде представляется возможность представить один из праздников, не называя его. А другие команды внимательно слушают и угадывают. Аудирование: Guess the holiday!

Возможные варианты монолога:

• In Britain this day is celebrated on the 25^th of December. It is a family holiday. People stay at home and spend the time with their families. Everyone is buying presents for friends and relatives. People send cards or greetings to their friends. Every family has a tree, which is decorated with coloured lights. When the day before the vacation begins, schools have parties. Children sing carols. Little children believe that when they are asleep Santa Claus comes to visit them with a big bag of toys. They often hang up large stockings to receive the presents. Children especially wait for this merry holiday. All families gather together for dinner. They eat chicken, turkey, duck, goose and pudding, pies for the sweet. (It's Christmas)

• The British celebrate this day on the 14^th of February. It is not a legal or national holiday. Banks and offices do not close, but it is a happy little festival, especially for children and young people. It is celebrated among people of all ages. The day is a time to send little gifts to those you love. Flowers and candy are favourite presents which sweethearts send each other. The greeting cards are often coloured, have red trimmings and pictures of hearts. It is a favourite day for parties, especially by young people. The hosts trim the hall with red and white paper streamers and hearts. (St.Valentine's Day)

• This holiday comes on a Sunday between March and April. Just before it the schools and colleges usually close. The students have a week or ten days of spring vacation. It is a church holiday. It marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. At this holiday people buy new clothes to wear on Sunday. Another custom is decorating eggs for children. Little children believe the rabbit comes and leaves the eggs for them. Eggs are the symbol of new life. (Easter)

- It is celebrated on the 1^st of January. It is customary for people to remain awake until after midnight on December 31^st so that you may "watch the old year out and the new year in. Many parties are given on this night. The theatres, night clubs and restaurants are crowded. When midnight comes, everyone at the party stops whatever they have been doing to greet the new year. The favourite song at a New Year's Eve party is "Old Lang Syne". It was written by Robert Burns. The marry makers always sing part of it. People gather in the streets of big cities, they make noise in every way they can. (New Year's Day)

- It is a festival that takes place on October 31. The main activity for children is trick-or-treating. Children dress in costumes and masks and go from door to door saying "trick or treat, money or eat". The neighbours give children such treats as candy, fruit and pennies so that children do not play tricks on them. People once believed that there were many ghosts and witches on the Earth and that they met on October 31 to worship the devil. They decorate their houses with pumpkins, bats and spiders in order to frighten the evil spirits. Today, people do not believe in ghosts and witches but they like to tell stories about them on this day. (Halloween)

Задания (приложение 5).

Let us check your answers. The checking will be made by members of other team.

Члены команд соперников (1-2 человека, в зависимости от группы) по кругу переходят в другую команду и проверяют их ответы. За правильные ответы команды получают баллы.

And the last task. Учитель раздает каждой команде карточки с праздниками и карточки с датами. Надо соединить праздник с нужной датой. (Приложение 6)

7. Итог урока. Today we have spoken about great holidays in Britain. I think the information was interesting. You were fine! Your marks are excellent. Thank you for the work.

Подсчитываются баллы. Объявляется и награждается выигравшая команда.

8. Домашнее задание. Подготовить сообщение о Bonfire Night.
