Цели: 1. Научить учащихся рассказывать о будущих событиях, делать предсказания, спрашивать и высказывать предположения о будущей жизни.

2. Воспитывать культуру общения, ответственное отношение к будущему планеты, развивать интерес к научным достижениям, новейшим технологиям.

3. Познакомить с основными предсказаниями по поводу будущей жизни, с новыми высокотехнологичными изобретениями.

4. Развивать умения говорения, чтения, аудирования, письма; совершенствование грамматических навыков. Развитие творческого мышления, воображения.

Языковой материал: Grammar: Future Simple (will), Lexis: related to predictions for the future (predictions, creature, to exist, glass dome, mini-submarine, online school, robotic housemaid, traffic jam, underwater city, to cause)

Речевой материал: School children`s predictions for the future (short texts), аудиозапись Module5 track 1.

Ход урока:

1. Начало урока:

Приветствие. - 2 мин.

T : Good morning, my dear friends! I am glad to see you. Tell me please what is the date today?

P1: Today is the 25^th of December.

T: And what day of the week today?

P2: Thursday.

T: Well and now tell me please who is absent and we'll start our work with the new module 5.

P3: Today …..is absent.

Reading

Ex. 1 p.46 (a)

T: Now let's start. Have a look at the title of this Module 5 the title, Predictions, and the pictures. Explain the meaning of the title (imagining what the future will be like or what will happen in the future) and the pictures.

P1: Predictions - a statement about what will happen in the future.

P2: The pictures and the texts relate to life in the future.

Ex.1 p.46 (b)

T: Read out the prompts and elicit/explain the words and identify the items.

T: Read the questions and the options A, B and C first to know what information to look for. (Ss choose the best option A, B or C. Ss compare answers. Check answers.)

T: Well done. Now we'll work with new vocabulary. Explain the meaning of the words in bold without the use of a dictionary, you can use synonyms, paraphrase etc. Elicit/Explain the meanings. You can use the box presented on the board.

T: I think sometimes you talk to your friends about future, ask questions and answer them. How to do it in English?

We use will to make predictions about the future based on what we think or imagine. We often begin our sentence with the words: I think, I`m sure, I believe.

Example: I think life will be very different in 2100.

- We use the present simple after if and when, not the future simple.

If/when + present simple

If/ When I go to Spain, I will take lots of photographs.

T: Work in pairs. Form questions and answers using the prompts.

T: Think of several words and the grammar structures you have learnt in today's lesson. Use them to make your own sentences about future life.

P1:I think that we will discover other planets and we will go on holidays there. I also think that everybody will have their own robot that will do all their work for them and we will have more time to play. However, I don't believe that we will have robot teachers because we will always need real teachers.

T: At home you are to think what your predictions for the future are. You can use ideas from Ex.1 as well as your own to write a short text similar to the ones on p. 46. You can draw pictures. Use ideas from Ex. 1 to help you and your own ideas.
