The aims of the lesson:

• To enrich pupil's knowledge on foreign music;

• To speak about music to teach students to understand the kinds of music;

• To bring up the interest to the various styles of music;

1. Introduction
   Good afternoon dear teachers and pupils! You're welcome to our competition! Today 4 teams will compete and show us their knowledge in music of modern music. They are students of 9^th form. So introduce yourselves.

Our quotation is: "Music is universal language of the world"

2. Let's begin our competition. Our first stage "Listen and guess". You should

choose one of the numbers and listen to the short extract of the music and guess its name or say the text.
