Unit 3«Let’s read and speak English» Lesson 7 «Plural nouns» Aim:By the end of the lesson the children will be able to form the plural nouns Skills: Grammar skills: to learn how to form the plural nouns New Language: Reading the endings of plural nouns Revision: numerals, names of the animals Activity/Time Procedure Comments Teacher Does Pupils Do Warm-up The teacher tells about the invitation to the London zoo, asks what animals they can visit in the zoo.  Then the teacher pronounce how the animals speak. Pupils guess the animals and repeat the sounds after the teacher. The teacher shows the transcription. Vocabulary activities (animals, numerals) The teacher shows the picture with the animals in the zoo, ask the pupils to call and to count them. The pupils call the animals and count them: The first pupil says: Number one is the bear. The next says: Number one is the bear and number two is the fox. The game «snowball» Aim of the lesson The teacher shows another one picture. There are a lot of animals on the picture: 2 pigs, 3 tigers … he teacher asks the pupils to say what they will learn today on the lesson. The pupils make the aim of the lesson.   Discovery grammar activities The teacher tells the pupils that they are going to be «grammar detectives» and discover a rule «plural nouns»     The teacher pays their attention to the pronunciation of the endings The pupils work in pairs and discover the rule and the examples. Then they discuss the rule together.   The pupils repeat the examples after the teacher     There is the rule and the examples on the screen Practice the grammar The teacher gives the cards (the tickets to the Mr Brown's show) and asks the pupils to call the animals in plural form. The pupils call the animals in plural form with the right endings There are the picture of the animals on the cards A rest The teacher asks the pupils to stand up, calls the nouns in singular and plural forms, ask the pupils to clap and to step The pupils clap if they hear the noun in singular form and step in plural form   Listening The teacher asks to listen to the show and fill the table how many animals are there in Mr Brown's zoo The pupils listen to the speaker and fill the table. Then one of the pupils plays the role of Mr Brown and tell about the animals in the zoo.     The pupil use the structure I have got  3 pigs. Writting The teacher gives the cards with magical mirrors to make from one thing a lot of things and asks to make the sentences with the structure I have got… and with the right plural form of the nouns. Then the teacher asks to check each other.      The pupils make the sentences writing.           Then they check each other.   Conclusion The teacher aks to remember the aim of the lesson and say what the did learn on the lesson. Then the teacher asks to fill the table what the pupils can do very good, good, not good The pupils make the conclusion. The pupils fill the table skills Very good good Not good To count the animals       To form the plural nouns       To read the endings of the plural nouns
