b) Explanation of new grammar

- Today we have a grammar theme. The structures There is… / There are… We use structures there is to say where the thing is now, ……. Its whereabouts. For example: There is a book on the table. And we use the structure there are to inform where the things are: There are two armchairs in the living room.

We form the interrogative forms of the structures by replacing the formal word there and auxiliary verbs is, are.

In the negative form we add not after the auxiliary verbs is, are.

Text 3. Omar's house
