Урок в 11 классе по теме "Travelling around the world "

по учебнику Liz and John Soars Headway (intermediate)

Подтема : "Living abroad. Advantages and Disadvantages "

Цели :

1.практическая: к концу урока учащиеся смогут делать монологические высказывания и выводы по теме, вести беседу с одноклассниками; употреблять повседневные выражения;

2. развивающая: развивать навыки аудирования, ведения диалогической и полилогической речи; умения побуждать партнера к высказыванию;

3. познавательная: формирование интереса и уважения к культуре стран мира и изучаемого языка;

4. воспитательная: расширять кругозор учащихся, толерантное восприятие поликультурного общества; образа жизни, традиций и обычаев стран мира.

Оборудование: учебник Liz and John Soars Headway (intermediate)

магнитофон, телевизор, DVD-плейер, наглядный, дидактический раздаточный материал;

Ход урока



  1. Приветствие.

Good morning! Glad to see you, my dears! Today we're going to speak about visiting different places, cities and even countries. I suppose you're ready to start our lesson. And I hope to hear and watch the presentations of the places you have visited recently. I want you to share your impressions and opinions with the classmates and the guests.

  1. Введение в иноязычную атмосферу.

    1. Let's start our lesson with the game! Tell me several letters.

I'll write them on the blackboard make as many words as you can. I'll give you only one minute not more.

  1. Look at the blackboard, please! Read some funniest and the most beautiful idioms. Tell me what idiom you like most of all. And I want you to think and tell me what idiom suits the topic of our lesson most.

  • Use your loaf;

  • When pigs fly;

  • What goes around, comes around;

  • Two's company; three's a crowd;

  • East or west- home is best;

  • Variety is the spice of life.



  1. Активизация навыков аудирования и устной речи.

So the main idea of our lesson is "East or West - Home is Best!"

We'll discuss it. You'll try to prove this proverb.

-You've travelled a lot and you've seen many cities and towns and people.

-Who will start?

- Lilya, you are welcome!

- Tell us about your trip to Dubai.

- Children, be ready to ask questions, please. (Presentation)

Possible questions:

  1. Did you see a lot of poor people there?



  1. Are you ready to follow all these strict rules for Muslim women?



  1. Would you like to live there?



  1. Are you sure that you will have the possibility to make a career?

2. Denis, as far as I know, you want to tell us about your trip to Artek. (Presentation)

- Did you make a lot of friends there?

-Were they only from Russia or from different countries?

-Do you get in touch with them?



  1. Now Michael, it's your turn.

-You've visited Europe.

- What countries did you visit?

- What's your impression? (Presentation)



  1. And what about Natasha? Tell us about your trip to Moscow, please.

  • Did you visit the Kremlin?

  • Did you see the Red Square?

  1. Nastya, tell us about your visit to Berlin, please.

  1. At last I want to give a word to Vitaliy who has visited Great Britain recently.

  • Did you live in London?

- What impressed you most of all? (Presentation)

4. Рефлексия урока.

So we've listened to all these stories asked and answered many questions.

And now answer such a question ," Would you like to live abroad? Why?

Why not"?

What are advantages and disadvantages living in the EU? (students' own answers)

I'm sure that "No place like home".

What about the idiom? Does it suit to the topic of our lesson?

"Variety is the spice of our life."

- Tell me, please whose story was the most interesting?

-Who was the best story-teller?
