«Who is the best in English?»

20-20 учебный год

Цели:

• предоставить учащимся возможность для реализации творческого потенциала и демонстрации достижений в изучении английского языка;

• выявить уровень сформированности коммуникативных умений и навыков.

Задачи:

1. Расширить знания учащихся об Америке и Англии.

2. Приобщить учащихся к культуре стран изучаемого языка.

3. Поддержать интерес к изучению английского языка.

4. Активизировать учебные умения и навыки учащихся.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями для каждой команды, магнитофон с живой музыкой, которая включается на время выполнения заданий.

Предварительная подготовка:

1. Формируются списки команд-участников конкурса. Участие в конкурсе добровольное.

2. Консультация с участниками конкурса по подготовке визитной карточки.

Ход мероприятия

Teacher:

Good morning everybody! Welcome to our competition "Who is the best in English?" Now you can see our jury: the teachers of foreign languages of our school …

Let's start our game. For warming-up each team tells us some words about yourselves for 1 minute. Who is the 1^st ?

Визитная карточка:

1. Название команды.

2. Эмблема.

3. Девиз.

4. Пожелания себе и соперникам.

Представление визитной карточки. Визитная карточка неоценивается.

Teacher: We are glad to meet you. Good luck to everybody!

Teacher:

Now we have the main part of our competition. And we hope you can show us your knowledge of culture and literature of different English-Speaking countries. Your task is to choose the correct answer.

You see the names of the cities on your papers. Match the cities and their capitals.

Учитель раздает листы с заданиями. Все задания выполняются на время. Пока ребята работают можно включить музыку. По истечении времени листы собираются. Пока жюри проверяет работы, учитель объявляет правильные ответы.

Командам предлагается ответить на вопросы по очереди. Если команда, которой был адресован вопрос затрудняется с ответом, ответ дает другая команда, изъявившая готовность первой. Кто больше даст правильных ответов, тот и выиграл. Учитель читает вопросы. Жюри фиксирует правильные ответы.
