A Christmas Party

We are going to have a party

And a lovely Christmas tea,

And flags and lighted candles

Who live both far and near

The sky is grey

And flakes are falling

I hear the snowman

Calling, calling.

Outside, it's wild

Dad's car is stalling

Next door my friends are

Sliding, sledging

And, oh, snow balling

The winter winds are

Christmas pudding

Into the basing put the plums,

Next the good white flour comes,

Sugar and peel and eggs and spice,

I love Christmas for many things

Trees, candles, angel wings.

Stars in Heavens, snow covered thrills.

I love Christmas ribbons of gold,

Familiar carrols, so very old.

Sweet candy canes, bright red sleds,

Little ones tucked snug in their beds.

I love Christmas, but most of all

I look forward to a neighbor's call.

A friendly chat, a cup of tea

Love in the home means Christmas to me.
