Unit 3. I've got an idea!

Lesson 4-5.

Тема: Английский язык в жизни человека.

Підтема: Английский - самый популярный язык в мире.

Цель: развивати речевую компетенцию (развивати коммуникативные способности учеников, совершенствовать умение читать, развивать произносительно-интонационные навыки, закрепить изученный грамматический материал на письме, отработать употребление структур с модальным глаголом to have to), формировать языковую компетенцию (ознакомиться и закрепить новую интернациональную лексику: popular, culture, international, computer, communication, television), развивати социокультурну компетенцию (воспитание культуры общения и потребности в практическом использовании языка, воспитывать интерес к изучению иностранного языка).

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Оборудование: учебник О.Д. Карпьюк «English» 5 класс, карточки с изображением звуков, демонстрационные таблицы с грамматическими структурами («Настоящее и прошедшее неопределенное время»), карточки для самостоятельной работы.

Ход урока:

І. Подготовка к восприятию иностранной речи:

1. Приветствие:

- Good morning, boys and girls!

- Good morning, good morning, good morning to you,

Good morning, my teacher, I'm glad to see you!

• I'm glad to see you too, sit down, please. Could you tell me, who is on duty today? Who is absent?

2. Сообщение темы и цели урока:

- Our topic today is "The English Language is the Language of International Communication". Today we'll discuss the importance of learning English in our life.

3. Фонетическая зарядка:

- But, before we shall start working, let's refresh our memory and let's train the sounds

Repeat after me:

This thick read

That thin red

Bathe something rain

Weather anything rest

Together nothing ring

Father faith rose

Mother thank you! Green

Brother

4. Речевая зарядка:

- What day is it today?

- What date is it today?

- Let's talk about today' weather:

- What month is it now?

- What season is it now?

- Is the weather fine today?

- Is it cold or warm today?

- Is it frosty today?

- Is it raining now?

- Is the wind blowing now?

- Are there many clouds in the sky?

- Is the sky blue or grey?

- Is the sun shining brightly today?

- What temperature is it today?

5. Проверка домашнего задания:

- Now, children, what was your home assignment for today?

- Our home task for today is: ex. 3, p. 43.

- O'k, let's check out your home assignment!

ІІ. Основная часть урока:

1. Обсуждение темы:

• Now, listen to the poem and answer the questions:

English is easy

Come on and join in

English is easy

Let's begin!

• Is English easy? Is English difficult? What do you think about it?

• I think, it isn't easy, because one English word may have many different meanings, for example: introduction - 1) вступ; 2) знайомство.

• As for me, English is difficult, because, one preposition can change the whole translation of the word: to get off - зійти

to get up - прокидатися

to get together - зібратися разом

• Right you are! Thank you! I quite agree with you!

2. Усовершенствование техники чтения:

1. Впр. 1, с. 44.

а) Pre-reading activity. Этап подготовки к чтению:

- введення нових ЛО, New Vocabulary (с. 45).

Foreign - from another country;

Travel - to make a trip, to go to another place;

To improve - to make better.

• These are the international words. Their pronunciation in different languages is almost the same.

b) повторение правила об использовании суффикса -ion:

- Look at the word international, please! Let's remember the rule about the suffix -ion:

+- t, +-ss = : dictation.

-ion

+ -s = : revision.

• Now, repeat after me: (New Vocabulary).

c) Reading. Этап чтения текста. ( Впр. 1, с. 44).

3. " Brainstorm"(Post-Reading Activity). Now, please, try to complete the sentences from the text:

2) English is very…

3) Many English words are…

4) English has got many words…

5) People want…

6) That's why…

7) English is the language…

4. Развитие навыков письма:

1. Отработка употребления предложений с модальным глаголом to have to: (повторение правила - с. 43).

2. Работа с карточками.

Учитель раздает карточки детям. На карточках предложения, в которых есть модальный глагол to have to. Ученики должны найти ошибки в предложениях и исправить их. Потом дети меняются карточками и проверяют друг друга, наскольки успешно они справились с заданием. Учитель читает правильные варианты ответов.

ІІІ. Заключительная часть урока:

1. Обобщение выполненной работы:

• Today, at our lesson, we've recognized, that many words in different languages are international. And, nowadays, learning English is very important for us!

2. Домашнее задание: словарная работа (с. 45), упр. 2, с. 45.

3. Подведение итогов урока. Комментирование и выставление оценок.

• Dear pupils! I want you to look at the text "English Bridge" again. Please, read the last two sentences. Let's study English! Let's make it our bridge, not a wall!

• Lesson is over! Have a rest! Good-bye!
