Theme: My Flat

Aims:

  1. To develop speaking skills, describing pupils' rooms.

  2. To check knowledge of vocabulary on the given theme.

  3. To develop auding skills.

  4. To practice in asking and answering questions.

Visual aids:

  2. Pictures of the rooms

  3. Individual cards with grammar tasks

  4. Poster with a rhyme

  5. Poster with a crossword

Plan:


  1. Organization moment

Good afternoon, dear guests and pupils. I am glad to see you. Sit down, please.

Today the theme of our lesson is "My Flat" and let me name the aims of the lesson:

  1. To develop speaking skills, describing pupils' rooms.

  2. To check knowledge of vocabulary on the given theme.

  3. To develop auding skills.

  4. To practice in asking and answering questions.

During today's lesson I shall give pupils stars for each correct answer and at the end of the lesson I will put marks those pupils who have a lot of stars. So, be active.


  1. Phonetical drill

Now, we shall start our lesson with reading a phonetical drill. First of all listen to my reading very attentively, then you should repeat after me and only after it you will read it yourselves.

  1. Vocabulary

We have studied some words which are connected with flat, now we shall check your knowledge of them. I shall show you some cards with these words and you will name the Russian equivalent of them.

A washing machine

Down:

  1. It gives us information about the time (watch)

  2. We sit on it (chair)

  1. Auding

Next task is auding. I shall read the text, which describe the room. Firstly, you will only listen to it very attentively. While the second reading you will fill the room with furniture. Draw it on the sheets of paper which are given to you. You should write only name of the furniture and where it is separated. And when I shall read it for the last time you will check your works.

There is a kitchen. There is a table in front of the window. There are 4 chairs at the table. There is a fridge on the left and cupboard on the right. There is a dishwasher next to the cupboard. There is a sink in the right corner. There is a cooker between sink and dishwasher.

Now, change your works and we shall check them. Firstly, we shall make the plan of this room on the blackboard and then you will check your neibours' works and put them marks.

5.Grammar

Take these cards and fill the blanks with are or is.

  3. There is a carpet on the floor.

  13. There are plates in the dishwasher.

  14. There are not plants in the bedroom.

  15. There is not sink in the living room.

6. Speaking

Now, our pupils shall describe their rooms. Look at pictures which were drawing by them, listen to them and then you will ask questions.

7. Answering questions

Look at the picture and answer the questions.
