Today we'll talk about the national holidays, traditions in the Great Britain. As you can see our lesson is held with the help of computer. Look at the screen. Let's read and translate the British holidays. Write them.

The main part of the lesson. Read and translate the text.

Christmas day. British people celebrate Christmas on December 25. Christmas is a religious holiday and one of the happiest holidays of the year, because it is the day that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas! Christmas greetings and best wishes for the New Year! Decorated house, bake Christmas cookies.

St. Valentine's Day. It is a day of love and friendship. People can send greeting cards to their sweethearts and friends and ask them to "Be my Valentine." Say in the cards - Will you be my Valentine?

St. Patrick's Day. On March 17, British people celebrate an Irish religious holiday, St. Patrick's Day. On this day they decorate their houses, schools, and streets with green shamrocks. They say that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. Say to each other - Kiss me. I'm Irish!

Mother's Day. American people honor their mothers on the 8th of March. This day is called Mother's Day. It's a way of saying: "Thanks for being such a great Mom!"

Easter. Easter is celebrated on a Sunday in April or May. The week before Easter people color eggs. On Easter Sunday children wake up to find that the Easter Bunny has left them a basket of candy.

Halloween. It is one of the best holidays for children. It is celebrated on October 31. Halloween colors: orange and black.

Relaxation. "Where is London town?"
