Topic: Animal's world of Kazakhstan

Aims: to involve the students into discussion about animals

to practice to work as a team

Objectives: by the end of the lesson SWBA to:

say 5-9 sentences about animals of Kazakhstan

ask 3-5 questions

call names of Natural reserves of Kazakhstan

2. Theme and aims of the lesson.









3. Phonetic drills:

a) Song "Kazakhstan is my Country".

b)Revision of words in "big' and "small" circles

4.Production.



5. Presentation of posters.

Assessment ( using criteria)

7. Practice:

a) Play"For and against"

b) Presentation " The National Parks of Kazakhstan"

c ) Discussion about reserves

8) Homework: find new information about one of the reserves and retell about it.

Greetings

-Let us wish something pleasant for today.

Video " Animals"

-What animals can you find here?

-Could you tell me where do elephants live?

-What do they eat?

- Are elephants big or small animals?

- Do you know how much water do they drink during the day?

-Are elephants domestic or wild animals?

- What are they?

-How do you think what is the theme of our lesson today?

- You are right. Today we are speaking about animals. And about animals which live in Kazakhstan.

- What animals live in Kazakhstan?

-All right. You are clever students. What are we going to do this lesson?

We are speaking mainly about animals- symbols of Kazakhstan.

Let us remember and sing our favourite song about our country.

-Let us repeat the words .Let us make a small circle. The other students make a big circle.

The teacher divides class into 3 groups, gives material about snow leopard, wolf and eagle.

Criteria:

10-12 sentences= 5

8-9 sentences = 4

5-7 sentences = 3

B)

Correct pronunciation

C)

Work as a team

D)

Appearance of poster

Teacher: -Let'us play

  • Are the animals in danger?

  • Why?

  • How can people help the animals?

Now. We see presentation about Natural Reserves ( Burabay National Park, Aksu-Zhabagly State Natural Reserve and others).


The students wish ( a good day, comfort on the lesson, joy, sunsets to warm the heart, friendship to brighten being , and so on.)

The students watch video about animals , guess the theme of the lesson, say aims and objectives, answer the questions.

The students sing a song "Kazakhstan is my country".

The students in "small" circle get cards with the words. The students of "big' circle stand opposite and translate the words. The teacher claps. And students go to other partners and so on.

The students are divided into 3 groups.(they complete the picture of eagle, wolf and snow leopard) Every group takes 1 picture of animal and the text about it. Using the picture and the text the students create a poster about this animal.

But before they discuss criteria of assessment.

Every group present it's poster, retell about animal and check - up the other 2 groups

The students work in pairs, using their tables.



The students stick paper leaves on the "tree".
