Тема урока: "At the zoo" (В зоопарке)

урок английского языка в рамках темы "Мир животных" по УМК "Spotlight" ("Английский в фокусе"), 5-й класс, под редакцией Ю.Е. Ваулиной, Дж.Дули.

Цели:

Учебный аспект:

  • научиться описывать животных и рассказывать о жизни животных;

  • повторить и обобщить формообразование и использовать в связной речи глаголы в Present Simple;

  • формировать навыки чтения, аудирования и письма.

Развивающий аспект:

  • развивать навыки и умения во всех видах речевой деятельности;

  • развивать умение запоминать новые слова;

  • развивать внимание и познавательную активность;

  • развивать память, смекалку и сообразительность.

Воспитательный аспект:

  • воспитывать любовь к животным;

  • воспитывать уважительное отношение к природе;

  • формировать потребности и способности к сотрудничеству и взаимопомощи при работе в паре.

Задачи:

  • повторить и активизировать ранее изученные и освоить новые лексические единицы по темам «Названия животных», «Части тела животных»;

  • отработать лексику по теме «Части тела животных» в связной речи при описании животных (развивать умения монологической речи);

  • развивать умения чтения (поискового и изучающего чтения);

  • повторить и обобщить формообразование и употребление глаголов в Present Simple (отрицательная и вопросительная формы);

  • развивать умения аудирования с извлечением информации;

  • развивать умение вести диалог-расспрос по ситуации «В зоопарке»;

  • развивать умения письменной речи (описывать животное с опорой на образец).

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Приемы работы: прием наглядности; прием повторения и обобщения знаний.

Оборудование урока: УМК; карточки с изображением животных; карточки с заданиями по грамматике; фотографии животных; аудиозапись с «голосами» животных; мультимедийная презентация в Power Point.

Продолжительность урока: 30 минут

ХОД УРОКА

  • Организационный момент.

Warming-up activities

T: Good morning, dear boys and girls!I'm very glad to see you. My name is Anna Igorevna and today I'm your English teacher. So, let's start our lesson. Look at the blackboard, please. Can you tell me what we are going to speak about? (- About animals) (слайд 1)

T: Right you are.

Today we'll speak about the world of animals. Animals play an important role in our life. The world is full of animals. Some of them are big and tall, some are strong and dangerous, some of them are funny and noisy. But they are so wonderful, that's why we'll speak about them.

I think you like animals. Do you like animals? Now let's talk about them. So, tell me please the places where animals live? Where animals can live? The animals can live……………… (слайд 2)

P-s: In the forest, town…In the jungle…In the oceans and rivers…At the Zoo!

T: Good of you! So, children today we'll speak about animals who live at the Zoo. Let's start our lesson with a little poem about the zoo. Look at the screen and repeat after me.

T: Good of you! Now, children, lets imagine that we are at the Zoo….(Музыка с голосами животных).

What animals can we see there?

-Bears, tigers, lions, crocodiles, kangaroos…

Основная часть урока.

1.Повторение изученной лексики и введение новой лексики по теме «Название животных».

Игра: «В зоопарке».

Ok, children, look at the blackboard, here we have the zoo you see. But our animals who live there run away…Will you help me to return them back??? You please, go to the blackboard and help our zoo animals come back.

Oh,thank you ever so much! Now all is well! All animals are at the zoo.

2.Повторение изученной лексики и введение новой лексики по теме «Части тела животных» - Повторение пар прилагательных антонимов

T: That's right! Now children let's revise some adjectives that we use when we want to describe some animals. The animals can be… Repeat after me: (слайд 5)

long - short; big - small; thin - thick; dangerous- strong; clever, funny- noisy.

Игра на закрепление лексики. Дети надевают на голову шапочки.

Good! Now children, lets play the game! Some of you have animal hats on your desks. Please, put them on your head…and now tell me please what kind of animal are you?

Are you a lion? Are you weak?

Are you a tiger? Are you small?

Are you a monkey? Are you noisy or quite? Are you strong?

Are you an elephant? Are you big?

Are you a bear? Are you funny?

3.Введение лексики - названия частей тела животных T: Perfect! You are so beautiful and clever animals!!! And now children, we are going to speak about some parts of the animals' body and try to learn them. Look at the blackboard attentively and repeat after me:

Tusks-бивни

Trunk-хобот

Beak-клюв

Neck-шея

Fur-мех

Feathers-перья

Mane-грива

Legs-ноги

Paws-лапы

Wings-крылья (слайд 6)

4.Отработка лексики. Игра «Правда или ложь».

T: That'll do! Good of you!!! OK, pupils, take your sheets of paper, look at Ex.1. And now we are going to play the game that you know very well under the title "True or False".

I'm going to read these sentences and you should say if it is true or false:

1. The elephant has got big ears, long legs and a short trunk. FALSE

The elephant hasn't got long legs and a short trunk. It's got short legs and a long trunk.

2. The giraffe has got a short neck, big ears and long legs. FALSE

The giraffe hasn't got a short neck and big ears. It's got a long neck and small ears.

3.The bear has got short paws, small ears and a small tail.

It is TRUE.

4. The monkey has got a thin mane and big ears. FALSE

The monkey hasn't got a thin mane and big ears. It's got a thin fur and small ears.

5. The lion has got a thick mane and a long tail. TRUE

6. The peacock has got a short trunk and long feathers. FALSE

The peacock hasn't got a short trunk. It's got a small beak.

T: And now please answer my questions.

P1: Which animal has got a thick mane?

6.Работа в парах. Дети работают с карточками.

T: Excellent!!! You are so clever! So let's continue our lesson. Now, work in pairs! Children, take your cards. One of you will read the card and another should guess the animal. Is it clear? Let's begin! You have one minute to do this task!

Ok, stop! That's enough! You please, stand up, read the card…show me the animal…Right! Next, you please.. Thank you, sit down! Wonderful!!!

7.Развитие умений поискового чтения - Ex.2

T: Now look in your sheets of paper, Ex 2.,read the dialogue aloud, please.

Ben: Do you like the zoo, Ann?

Ann: Yes, I do. It is great. What is that animal over there?

Ben: Which one? What does it look like?

Ann: It has a long neck and long legs.

Ben: That is a giraffe. They are so beautiful.

Ann: Yes, they are. Look, what is that up in the tree?

Ben: It is a monkey.

Ann: Ah! I don't like monkeys.

Ben: Why not?

Ann: They are noisy.

Ben: I find them clever. Anyway, let's go and see the bears.

Ann: OK.

Ok,good!!! Now look through the text again and say which animals are in the dialogue. (Ps: a giraffe, a monkey, a bear).

T: That's right. Here we have a giraffe, a monkey and a bear. Do you agree???

T: Are you tired? Let's have a rest! Let's do some exercises. Stand up!!! Be ready! Включается запись песни «Желтый жираф». Учитель надевает маску жирафа.Are you ready?


  • The yellow giraffe

  • Is as tall as can be.

  • It can eat the leaves

  • From a very tall tree!

  • It's got a long neck

  • And long legs too.

  • And it can run faster

9.Развитие умений аудирования с выборочным пониманием заданной информации.(слайд 9)

T: Now I'm going to propose you to listen to the text. Listen to this text very attentively and your task is to fill in the gaps. In your sheets of paper it is exercise №3. Do you find it? Are you ready?

  • The tiger is a (1)…(2)… . It is (3)…,orange and (4)… .It is big and (5)… .The tiger lives in the forest or (6)… .It (7)…small animals.

  • Its stripes(полоски)(8)… it.

T: OK, let's check up filling in the gaps. Tell me please what is missed in number one..two..?

10.Развитие умений описывать дикое животное с опорой на образец. (слайд 10)

T: Well done. Most of you were very attentive pupils. But now let's try to write about your favourite wild animal in Ex.№4. You have only two minutes! Let's do it together, please. Look at the screen. Учитель читает образец.My favourite animal is the swan.

Write its name, what it looks like, its colour. Включается музыка.

Model: The swan is usually white or black. It has got a long neck, a yellow beak with black around the eyes. It has got big wings and lots of feathers. I like swans because they are very beautiful and proud.

T : Ok, that's enough Now read please what did you write? Oh, it's marvelous!!! Thank you!

11.Подведение итогов урока. Рефлексия. (слайд 11)

T: Children, we have spoken a lot today about animals and you see they are so different but at the same time they are wonderful, right? . As for the lesson I like the way you worked today so that's why I want to thank everybody! Now, pupils, time is up. The lesson is over. You may be free. See you at the Zoo! Goodbye!
