Student 1: Hello everybody! Merry Christmas!
Student 2: Guten Tag, liebe Gäste! Frohe Weihnachten!
Student 3: Bonjour! Joyeux Noël!
Student 4: It's the 25th of December and today British people celebrate the most significant holiday, Christmas. As you know, it is a religious holiday. On this day Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is a family holiday. Traditionally all relatives and friends send greeting cards and give each other presents. Houses and streets are beautifully decorated. You can see Christmas trees everywhere. They are decorated with fairy lights, angels and small toys. Besides, houses are decorated with holly and mistletoe. At Christmas you can see the Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square. It is a present from the people of Oslo. They send it to Londoners every year. Children and grown-ups like to stand and look at the Christmas tree because it is very beautiful and big.
Student 5: Christmas Eve is a very exciting time for young children. It is the time when Santa or Father Christmas comes. Children hang up their stockings and go to sleep. In the morning when children wake up they open their stocking presents. Traditionally on Christmas Eve mince pies and milk are left for Santa and carrots are left for his reindeer.
Student 6: Carol singing is an important part of Christmas. In the evening before Christmas children usually come from house to house and sing Christmas carols. People who live in the houses give children sweets, nuts and pies to thank them for carol singing. And now let's sing one of the Christmas carols together.
We wish you a merry Christmas")
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year!
Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring us some figgy pudding
And a cup of good cheer
We won't go until we get some
We won't go until we get some
We won't go until we get some
So bring it right here
Good tidings we bring
To you and your king
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year!
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year!
Student 6: Thank you, children! On Christmas Day British people have Christmas dinner. It includes turkey with cranberry sauce and pudding. After dinner people go to the sitting room and listen to the Christmas speech of the Queen shown on TV. So, Christmas is a merry family holiday for all people of Great Britain.
Student 1: It's Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Yes, it's merry, merry Christmas!
It's time for hanging stockings,
It's time for riding sleighs
Student 7: It's time for jolly greetings,
Snow and holy overeating
Oh, I love you, merry Christmas
You are the best of holidays!
Noël est proche
Noël s`approche
Noël c'est la fête
Noël est dans ma tête
Noël c'est pour toi
Noël c'est pour moi
Noël est sans chagrin
Mais Noël n'est pas sans sapin
Le père Noël
Descend du ciel
Avec son traîneau
Et ses cadeaux.
Tous les enfants
Attendent ce moment,
Même les plus vieux
Font un voeu.
Ils sont joyeux
Et sont nerveux
de leur cadeaux si précieux.
Student 1: By the way, Russian people also celebrate Christmas. But we celebrate it on the 7th of January. On the 6th of January people go to church. On Christmas day many people visit friends and relatives, have a family dinner. Children get presents on that day.

Teacher of English: Colour the wreath green.
Malt die Weihnachtsspielzeugen rot und gold!
Colorez le ruban avec le feutre rouge.
Student: (по-немецки) Super!
Student: (по-французски) Et maintenant, regardez l`ecran. Vous voyez une maison avec des fenêtres. Des symbols de Noël y sont cachés.
Teacher: Great! At Christmas people sing songs. So, let's sing the song "Jingle Bells" in English, French and German.
Jingle Bells
Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go,
Laughing all the way.
Bells, on bobtail ring,
Making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.
Jingle, bells! Jingle, bells! Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Sur le long chemin
Tout blanc de neige blanche
Un vieux monsieur s'avance
Avec sa canne dans la main
Et tout la-haut le vent
Qui siffle dans les branches
Lui souffle la romance
Qu'il chantait petit enfant:
Vive le vent, vive le vent
Vive le vent d'hiver
Qui s'en va sifflant, soufflant
Dans les grands sapins verts…
Oh! Vive le temps, vive le temps
Vive le temps d'hiver
Boule de neige et jour de l'an
Et bonne année grand-mère…
Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go,
Laughing all the way.
Bells, on bobtail ring,
Making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, eine Schlittenfahrt
Die machjung und alt viel Freude,
Wenn der Schnee auch fällt.
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, durch den Zauberwald
Fahr so schnell Du fahren kannst
Dan wird Dir auch nicht kalt.
Teacher: Superb! You know, before Christmas children write letters to Santa Claus. Now you'll get Serena's letter. Complete it with the words. Put all the picture words in the plural form. To help you, you can find all the words in their singular form on the right of the letter.

Teacher: Christmas tree is the symbol of Christmas. Now take these Christmas trees and decorate them with the coloured balls. Each coloured ball has a smile. Some of them are happy, others are sad. If you are happy and liked our party, decorate your Christmas trees with "happy smiles" if there is something wrong with you or you didn't like the party, then use "sad smiles".
Let's Decorate The Christmas Tree")
Teacher: Students, show us your Christmas trees, please. We're glad you liked the party.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Wie grün sind deine Blätter!
Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein, auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Wie grün sind deine Blätter!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!
Wie oft hat nicht zur Weihnachtszeit
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Dein Kleid will mich was lehren:
Die Hoffnung und Beständigkeit
Gibt Trost und Kraft zu jeder Zeit!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
Dein Kleid will mich was lehren!
