Type of lesson: урок усвоения новых знаний

Aims:

  • Образовательные: формировать лексические навыки изучающего чтения и говорения по теме «Вселенная и мы»; развивать умения читать и воспринимать на слух с целью извлечения конкретной информации;

  • Развивающие: развивать способность к анализу, систематизации; развивать воображение и догадку.

  • Практические: развивать навыки изучающего чтения, аудирования, диалогической речи.

  • Воспитательные: воспитывать умение взаимодействовать и сотрудничать в парах (группах), приходить к общему решению; воспитывать ответственность друг за друга; формировать у учащихся мировоззрение открытого информационного общества, отношение к иностранному языку как к источнику получения информации и средству межкультурного общения и побуждать пользоваться на доступном учащимся уровне.

Планируемый результат: накапливать багаж новых ЛЕ, свободно читать текст и воспринимать его на слух, развивать коммуникативные способности посредством диалогической речи, развивать навыки и умения аудирования на основе песни "Wonderful World".

  • Equipment: books "Spotlight 11", exercise-books, blackboard, different handouts, song "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, presentation, computer, multimedia board.

Organization moment

  1. Greeting.

T: Good day, my dear. I'm glad to see you. How are you today?

P: We are fine.

T: That's good. Let's start our lesson.(1min)

  1. Warming up, Theme and Aims.

T: Now, look at the blackboard, please. There are the parts of the proverbs and sayings. You should match these parts and give Russian equivalent to them. (SLIDE 3).

It's a save the world.

Beauty will small world.

It takes all sorts to weep and you weep alone.

Laugh and the world laughs with you, make a world.

Well done. And now, please, find the common word in these proverbs/sayings. You are right! It is "WORLD". What synonyms to this word do you know? Look at the pictures on the blackboard, try to announce our theme.

The first word is the synonym to "world". It has 7 letters and its first letter is 21st in the alphabetical order.

T: Look at the second picture. Name it. Then change this noun into pronoun. Read the topic of our lesson.

T: Good work. (SLIDE 4) Open your books at p. 102 - 103. Look through these tasks and try to say what should we do today?

P: We'll practice in reading, speaking, listening… We'll develop…

T: Now I'll give you a table. You should compete it during our lesson. Put plus "+" for all correct done exercises and minus "-" for wrong work. You should put "+" or "-" not only for yourself, but also for your neighbor - classmate.

We'll start together (read the first and the second abstracts), then you'll continue reading by yourself. You'll have 4 minutes to finish it. Use your exercise-book for this task. (3 min)

T: I propose you to make a dialogue. I'll give you some phrases. Put them in the correct order, finish your dialogue, then act it out. Don't forget to use our new vocabulary.

T: Your homework is ex. 5, p. 103 - complete the sentences with the definite word (1st group (Elvira and Ruslana));

ex. 8, p. 103 - think and tell about "To confine our attention to terrestrial matters would be to limit the human spirit" (2nd group (Olya, Julia, Feride)).
