Цель урока: Расширить языковые знания и умения учащихся, осуществляя межпредметные связи.

Воспитательная цель: Оптимизировать процесс изучения английского языка. Повысить интерес у учащихся к изучению английского языка на основе материалов из различных предметных областей.

Учебные задачи урока:

1. Активизировать ЛЕ в чтении и в речи учащихся.

2. Организовать работу с текстом "Mysterious Stonehenge" с целью изучающего чтения.

3. Развивать грамматические навыки по теме «Степени сравнения прилагательных» через чтение и говорение.

4. Организовать работу с информацией из области «Астрономия» с целью просмотрового чтения.

5. Развивать речевые навыки на основе фактов из области «Физика», «Музыка», «Биология».

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент. Вступительное слово учителя.

-Good afternoon, dear friends. Nice to meet you. Let's begin our lesson. I hope that today you will get some useful knowledge from different science fields: from English history, from Physics, from Astronomy. So I believe that it will be interesting to you. So the topic of our lesson is "It's interesting". Try to do your best.

2. Фонетическая и речевая зарядка.

Teacher: Recently I have read an interesting quotation about knowledge:" Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes".

1. чтение слов по цепочке (языковой материал на листах А4, на экране слайд №2-3)

knowledge ['nɒlιdʒ]- знание
improve[ιm'pru:v]- улучшать
challenge['t∫ælιndʒ]- вызывать, оспаривать
increase [ιn'kri:z]- увеличивать
vanish['vænιʃ]- исчезать

2. прочтение всех слов

3. чтение, перевод высказывания

(Ученик зачитывает слова, другой переводит. Вариант перевода: «Знания должны постоянно улучшаться, оспариваться, увеличиваться, иначе они исчезнут».

Далее проходит обсуждение высказывания).

Teacher: What does this quotation mean? Pupil: We are to learn something new. If we don't learn, we'll have no knowledge.

Teacher: Let's get new experience.

3. Работа с текстом "Mysterious Stonehenge" (область «Английская история», слайд №4-5)

Teacher: When I studied at the institute my friend was fond of English history. Let's read the text about Mysterious Stonehenge. It was your homework.

1. чтение текста

Stonehenge ['stәun'hendʒ] is a prehistoric monument located in the English county ['kauntι]- графство of Wiltshire ['wιlt∫aιә]. It is one of the most famous sights in the world. The monument was left by the earliest inhabitants of the country. Stonehenge dates ['deιts] - датируется from between 1900 (nineteen hundred) and 1600 before Christ [kraιst].

Stonehenge is composed of a number of huge ['hju:dʒ] stones standing in a circle [sә:kl]. They are of 9 meters ['mi:tәz] high. The stones are joined on the top by other flat stones, each weighing ['weιιŋ] - весит about 7 tons [tʌnz].

No one can tell how these large stones were moved, or from what places they were brought. Stonehenge is still a mystery ['mιstәrι] to scientists. What was it used for?

You can hear a lot of legends. Some believed that the early British kings were buried

['berιd]- похоронены here. Others think that Druids made it to house their pagan ['peιgәn]- языческий rites- обряды. Some say it was used for sun worship ['wә:∫ιp] -поклонение.

We don't know for sure what it was for.

Teacher: What was Stonehenge used for? Find the 3 answers in the text.

4. Повторение грамматического правила « Степени сравнения прилагательных» (слайд №6)

Учитель предлагает озвучить (на русском или английском) правило образования степеней сравнения прилагательных, опираясь на схему. Это правило находит свое применение в следующем задании.

5. Работа с информацией (из области «Астрономия», слайд №7-12)

Teacher: My brother likes Astronomy very much. Read the information about the Solar system. Comment the grammar things. Try to remember the main facts about the Solar system.

1. The Sun is the closest star to the Earth. It is the largest object in the Solar system.

2. The Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth. It is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun.

3. Mercury ['mə:kju:ri] is the nearest planet to the Sun. It is the smallest planet of the Earth group.

4. Saturn ['sætin] is the second largest planet in the Solar System. Saturn has nine rings.

5. Mars [mα:z] is the fourth planet from the Sun in the Solar System. It is often described as the "Red Planet".

6. Neptune ['neptju:n] is the third most massive planet of the Solar system. Neptune's winds are the fastest in the Solar system.

Teacher: Answer my questions:

1. What is the largest object of the Solar system?

2. What is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun?

3. What is the smallest planet in the Earth group?

4. How many rings does Saturn have?

5. What planet is often called "Red Planet"?

6. What is the third massive planet?

Teacher: My sister likes physics very much. You will watch some illusions. I think it's amazing. Work in pairs, ask each other questions. They are on the screen.

8. Стили музыки (слайд №23).

Teacher: What do you see on this scheme? Name them. We will read the definitions of these styles.

"folk music"

It's loud music with a strong beat and with the electrical guitar. The singers often have long hair and wear black clothes.

rap

These are songs that were created by ordinary people. This music reflects the traditions of the country.

heavy metal music

A form of popular music developed especially in African-American countries and characterized by spoken rhyming ['raimiή] - рифмующийся lyrics with a strong rhythmic ['riðmik] - ритмичный accompaniment.

сlassical music

It is played on electrical instruments and repeats a few simple phrases. It was made popular by Elvis Presley.

Rock'n'Roll

It describes music that is considered serious or intellectual and is usually written in a traditional or formal style.

Teacher: Now we have a musical quiz. What musical genre is it? Listen carefully. (Учащиеся слушают музыкальные отрывки и безошибочно называют музыкальные жанры. Музыкальные отрывки прилагаются)

9. English for fun (слайд №24).

Следуя инструкции слайда, ученик кладет гайку в воздушный шарик и надувает его. Раскручивает шарик и все слышат звук «рычащей» гайки.

10. Влияние цвета (из области «Биология», слайд №25)

Teacher: Look at the picture and say what colours influence nervous centers, liver, blood system, microbes……
